Bread / Re: Plain White rolls - no fuss
« on: November 26, 2010, 11:35:20 am »
Tried these this week, worked beautifully.

I always had trouble with bread being dense in the breadmaker, where as this was lovely and fluffy.

I did plain rolls, bacon and cheese and cheesymite scrolls. The varieties are endless with this beautiful dough!

This is great, as it has no oil, or vinegar, meaning it's failsafe, so my son can share our bread too :)

Thanks so much!

I made this one twice this week, it is very yummy!

I've been adding chopped up chic ripple bickies for the 'cookies and cream' effect, and it is simply devine!

Had normal Blue Ribbon IceCream tonight and was quite dissapointed in it :s Oh well, will have to make my own from now own ;)

Ahhh, so everyone has that problem with raspberries?  :D They are a favorite around here!

Earth Mumma, thankyou, that's how I've been doing it, thank goodness! Might be that it needs a bit more water, as I'd been trying that and it helped, but it still seemed to be getting 'stuck', and not spinning everything together. I'm do the first 350, then blend, then the next.

Is it normal for anyone else to add water to their sorbets? Even for watery fruits, I'm finding I need to add extra to get it to blend.

Perhaps I'll try a few more fruits, oh the ideas!  :D

I use ice cubes made in my freezer :)

I don't seem to be accomplishing sorbets well!  :D

I'm adding the ice as per the recipe, but it's not 'keeping up', even with the spatula, I'm ending up with quite a bit of ice uncrushed, and I'm blending for a good 3 minutes.

I'm also finding, it's not grinding the seeds in berries as well as it did at the demo.  I found at the demo, they were almost gone, but I have quite a few now, not grinding long enough?

Thought some of the tried and tested users would have a better idea! :)

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / Re: Smelly lid!
« on: November 23, 2010, 10:33:59 am »
I've only had my TM for a few days, I did a macaroni cheese recipe, and diced up some onion, then cooked the sauce in it, so it was probably half an hour later when I washed it, and there was a very distinct smell of onion in the silicone rim. I was also pretty dissapointed!

I washed in hot water also, perhaps that should be a tip the consultants give out? That you wash in cold water, then hot water. Would have saved the onion smell through my chocolate sauce  :-))

Recipe Requests / Re: help with lemon sorbet please
« on: November 23, 2010, 10:19:20 am »
I did a half serve, as I wanted so much ice on the first one  :-))

so 150gms of lemon, a teeny bit of zest, I did leave the seeds in, perhaps that's the issue? and 75gm's of sugar. I'm using up my sugar stores, so it was white sugar, blitzed to icing.

Recipe Requests / help with lemon sorbet please
« on: November 23, 2010, 09:36:53 am »
So I tried it with the whole lemons, even though I thought it would be bitter, and it was, it was terrible!

So I cut all the pith off, so I only had the lemon flesh left, did that, and it's still bitter!

Am I doing something wrong, or is it just the lemons I'm using maybe?

 :D Judy, too true!

I'm hoping I can adapt my current recipe collection to TMX recipes, I think my husband would be rather sad if they weren't seen again! LOL They've taken a long time to get just right.

 :)

Introduce Yourself / Newbie from country Vic

Hey all!

I'm from South West Vic, Australia. I'm 25, married and have a 1 year old son. He has allergies to dairy and soy, and we are also failsafe! So I spend alot of time in the kitchen.

I've been stalking for a while, and have a demo booked in this week. I'm hoping the thermo can keep up with the 'baker' in me... we'll see  :D
