The pressure cooker talk also inspired me, and so I made the ribs Julie posted last week. Delicious! Will always do my ribs in pressure cooker from now on.

Peleep, I thought I'd try convincing them to ship to London. They might be interested if it is an order of 2 to the same address. Would you be interested in doing that and splitting the cost of shipment?

Yum, that looks so good. I am feeling a bit seedy, lying in bed trying to make myself get up and go to work and now all I want is a delicious hot roast chicken. When I was a little girl we all used to fight over the Parson's nose, and them I went to a friends house and they called it the pope's nose, and my mother explained in non catholic family's they call it the Pope's nose and in Catholic families they call it the Parson's nose. Because it is the bum - so an insult. I think she must have made that up. Has anyone ever heard it called the Pope's nose?

I read your subject heading and had a wave of envy. I have a weekend of school fixtures and in law's visiting. Do let us know what you make. Deep freezer - get ready!

Ow wow JD - you're an angel. Thank you. Hopefully I will be rewarding you all with some converted recipes soon! I have just been sticking with forum amd thermomix recipes to date but feeling like i'd like to enter the spirit of things and add recipes. I am nervous about posting anything that doesn't work so I will test a few times first. Just need some time to do it! Thanks again for your help! X

Fundj, would you freeze salsa verde?

Is there any general rule of which temp and how long it takes to get milk to just 'come to boil' in thermomix?

Very happy dance the sun has finally come out in London. Had BBQ lamb with salsa verde, roast tomato salad and Dan Lepard sour cream bread. And drank a bucket of rose, while sitting in the garden. I am officially English - running out into the garden the minute the sun comes out. But I didn't sit in my undies!

It is grilling, 'rotisserie' and conventional oven. The idea is you can do trays of biscuits etc. I am a bit dubious as to whether I'll use it , but the 90cm ovens - which I had before (inherited it with the house) was a nightmare to heat up. I think/hope it will be good if you're doing a roast in the 60cm you can do a pavlova or cake in the smaller oven. I will try out the rotisserie as that looks quite fun.

Such a great recipe. I completely messed up my timings and with a very warm kitchen over proved at both stages but still great loaf. It is very forgiving.

Thanks CC - I am in Soho tomorrow so will pop into JL and have a look, but I think I'll keep searching to see if I can find one with the pressure cooker too. I thought I'd write to Lakeland to see if they are interested in stocking it.  I'll let you know if I have any success.

Getting ready for Jubilee weekend...

And old oven finally bit the dust - hurrah but had to find a 90cm replacement. Not a lot of choice but ended up buying this one

It is a Britannia which is a British brand. It gets mixed reviews but fingers crossed will be good.

Dede I am imagining you standing behind it with a rifle in your hand!  I can never get the picture out of my head of your avatar with the low hanging boobs from about a year ago!

Merlin I did a theme night (morrocan) and got great cheap props on eBay. You might also get 60's magazines or recipe books on there? I have bought vintage dresses on eBay as well - for your costume.

I agree with devils on horseback being 70's . I wasn't around for the 60's (because i wasn't born - not stoned like Gert LOL) but I definitely remember my parents having devilled eggs and devils on horseback at parties in the 70's.
