Going to put on some mocca custard whilst we are eating so that she can see how clever the TMX is and how little is the effort on my part.  Non-TMX owners have to stand at the stove stirring, ha ha ha

Mocca custard sounds divine!!!  :D

What a great idea.  Will have to remember this recipe for summer.  A bit cold down here in Tassie for them at the moment.

This morning I have cooked Nico's Thai Chilli chicken, Bron's steamed garlic rice and my Goulash soup in preparation for my house guest who arrives just in time for tea tonight.

What a lucky house guest! Yummo!!! And for dessert . . . .

Does anyone know where I could possibly get the Australian cookbooks and how much is shipping to the US?

I would have a look at the Thermomix Australia website which has our Australian TMX books listed and some other countries books (mainly Italian from memory) that are on sale.  There is also a contact area where you can email the Aus HQ and ask them about prices and postage.  I would imagine international postage from Aus to US would be quite expensive too.

I made some butter this morning (we were missing our homemade butter) and then Amanda's lovely lemon yoghurt cake this afternoon.  Gosh it is a yummy cake.  We had JD's mince meat curry and rice for tea - very tasty and VERY easy! Thanks for the great recipes! Am off to make some lemon/lime cordial now.  My hubby likes to dilute it with mineral water - a great cheats lemonade.

I'm not overly keen on risotto either JD, but have finally found a combination that I (as well as hubby and kids) like.  I make a pumpkin and baby spinach risotto using the mushroom risotto recipe as the base (adding all ingredients except mushrooms).  I add about 200gms of pumpkin cubes when I add the stock (chicken stock is nice) and then I stir washed baby spinach leaves in when it is in the thermoserve.  I serve it with lots of grated parmesan and cracked pepper.  I don't use the butterfly, but occasionally have a slightly burnt base (perhaps I need too).  I use 350gms of rice and 80gms white wine (rather than the 50gms).
Hope this helps.

Desserts / Re: Yummy Apple Crumble

Bron this is absolutely sensational.  The best apple crumble I have ever had without a doubt.

The peel was just divine, but perhaps I overdid it a little.  My fourteen month old was screwing up his little face at the different flavour, but wanting more all the same and my husband (who doesn't like peel at all) asked me to make it again next week - but halving the peel.  I hope it will still have the same lovely texture with half of the peel.

Thank you so much.

Wouldn't it be great if they offered a monthly payment plan option for a second bowl (like they do for the thermomix itself).  I guess there would be too much admin involved to make it viable, but I'm sure there would be heaps of takers!!!

Will have to keep dreaming.

Made our usual apple and orange brekkie juice this morning, some linseed rolls for lunch, Trudi's lovely ginger nuts (yummo) this afternoon and Baf's varoma chicken and veg meal for dinner.  The boys had leftover pumpkin and spinach risotto.

My boys had overlapping three hour naps - I made motherhood look so easy today.  I even had time to cut the pumpkin ready to make Judy's pumpkin pie tomorrow.  I bet they don't sleep a wink tonight!!!

I just got an email back from Aus HQ and they said that they don't stock the English cookbooks and they recommended that that I buy them through the UK website.

Recipe Requests / tomato chilli jam
« on: June 22, 2009, 05:51:24 am »
Hi All,

I'm after a tomato chilli jam thermomix recipe.  I have a recipe that I did convert once (with great difficulty), but I've lost the notes I made at the time (most likely my toddler ate them  :)).  I know that there is one with small quantities included with the lemon pancake recipe (from the lemon comp.), but I'm unsure if it is suitable for bottling (it just states to set aside to cool).

Any help greatly appreciated.
