What a day K Atie ... I guess the one good thing is that you have a stove to get something warming cooked.  Does it have wet back to heat your water?

Not sure what a wet back is ? But just filled a big pot of water from the sink . DH discovered the correct booster I think as water was hot late last night . No motivated to clean out the pantry cupboard today but I’m going to have to , more bait in the roof yesterday .
DH lite the boiler , Wood firered ! This is for the hydronic heating , made a huge difference but now I have to keep the wood up to it .
Kitten is spending most of the day on the back doorstep, it doesn’t go far yet !

It’s spooky the way we rely on our electricity. We are extremely fortunate here and have few outages. If they go past a few hours DH starts up the generator for our fridge and freezer and runs a cord over to the neighbours for theirs, then they don’t mind the noise. We have gas hot plates.
I hope it all get sorted for you KAtie.
Are you feeling better Marina?

Found a 1/2 bag of white flour that I had shared with someone.  Have been putting off trying to determine exactly what it was. Plain white, SR white, strong bread or white bread mix. Looked up Google and tested for SR.  Not that.  Tasted it but still couldn’t tell.
Decided  in the end to make a No Fuss loaf. Yes it was white mix.
Haven’t been out of the house for 2 days as it has been very cold. Didn’t get past 8 on Saturday.
We are still in semi lockdown. No visitors and masks if outside of home. Not as bad as Melbourne.

I'm fine now, Cookie, thanks for checking up on me.

K Atie, a wet back stove or heater is one that is plumbed in to also heat your hot water.

Chookie, I had a similar experience yesterday, making the shepherd's pie. I went to get some flour to thicken it only to discover that DH had used up every last grain of flour (it's as well we have got an order due for delivery today) ... I was stuck, couldn't have shepherd's pie with a runny filling but then I found some psyllium husks I had forgotten about as well as some red lentils hidden in the back of my cupboard and that saved the day.

Also, Chookie (and everyone else who orders and gets their groceries delivered from the supermarkets) do you often experience problems or is it generally a pretty good service - we have got a choice between Coles and Safeway/Woolworths.

I’ve never used them Marina. I would if I had to.

I'm having my first visit the podiatrist today.    It was organized by my doctor as I am having trouble bending to reach my toes because of my bad back.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

I see a podiatrist every 6 weeks Mab. I have a problem with the nails on my big toe, they grow like a spiral and hurt. I enjoy my visits. I also get 5 free visits a year because I am diabetic.

Yesterday I had the Astra Zenica then rushed home to do Zoom yoga class last for the term . Pulled out some cutlets for freezer . Then did a joint quilting patch for our annual quilting group . Made crumbed cutlets and went to bed early feeling rather ordinary.
Very windy wet day . Freezing. Back to bed for me . Think my back hurts from bending at the table sewing . But I do feel very ordinary. Also reduced kitten that DH had put away for the night and it was in the rain . Now kitten has gone behind the heating unit , that is not on . Must be good to be out of the wind , but I don’t like it there . Kitten update it came out and is on DH mouse eaten jumper !

I had my 6 monthly check up with the dermatologist this morning and then did the grocery shopping. I only had to have some nitrogen zaps and nothing to be cut out. Great news. In December he taught me a new word, ecchymosis. It is the little bleeds you get under your skin as ;you get older.
Today he taught me another one, Borborygmic. (not sure of the spelling) This is when your tummy gurgles .We are both fond of onamatopic words. I'm not sure if that is a word!) onomatopoeia is possibly the word I needed.

So there is a word for my gurgling stomach cookie LOL. You’ve used 2 words that I’d have trouble pronouncing let alone remembering them.  Good news with your check up.

some ironing and I will vacuum in a minute. There is sand everywhere. The brickwork on DD's house was finished yesterday late in the day. The brickies worked in the rain to get it done. They are off home to Geraldton for a break now. I'm sure they will enjoy it. It's quite a large house and they got it done in 11 days, working sun up to sun down, except for one very wet day.
