Title: Re: help
Post by: fundj&e on July 18, 2012, 10:51:42 pm

Title: Re: help
Post by: dede on July 18, 2012, 10:57:09 pm

Title: Re: help
Post by: dede on July 18, 2012, 10:58:44 pm
The blade itself isn't broken is it? Do you have a second bowl?
Title: Re: help
Post by: fundj&e on July 18, 2012, 11:03:35 pm
blade looks fine, and no i dont have a second bowl

Title: Re: help
Post by: mcmich on July 18, 2012, 11:08:54 pm
Can you tell where it is coming from? If you set the blades running and have a look through the measuring cup hole with a torch you might be able to see where it is coming from.
Title: Re: help
Post by: dede on July 18, 2012, 11:11:08 pm
I'm assuming it would come from inside the blade turn bit some how. That's the only place it could come from I would think.
Title: Re: help
Post by: achookwoman on July 18, 2012, 11:12:03 pm
Ring HO.
Title: Re: help

Ring HO.

ACH do u know what i mean about  the dough just sticking  to the sides only

Title: Re: help
Post by: fundj&e on July 18, 2012, 11:20:00 pm
will I bin the veg stock i made yesterday  :-\
Title: Re: help
Post by: dede on July 18, 2012, 11:25:51 pm
Maybe the blades are broken inside and not actually turning while kneading properly , therefore not mixing the dough. That's the only thing I can think of. Should be as simple as replacing the blade hopefully. I have 6 months left on my warrant. Hopefully if anything is going to happen it will happen in the next 6 months.
Fundj you make a lot of bread don't you? I'm assuming that kneading would Cause the most strain on the blades. Good thing the stuffed up now rather than after the warranty runs out.

You could email them a photo of the dough as well as call them Uni so they can see the problem.
Title: Re: help

Faffa, if its  the blades, how long do they last?

H

Technically forever ... it is overloading the TM that strips the blades. It is best to always follow weights and times that are on your green magnetic card (it is also in the basics section of the EDC)

I have stripped one set of blades but DH and DS's have a nasty habit of overloading. I go crook, especially if it makes MY beloved TMX do the little squeaky sound (that is the TMX crying cause it is working too hard I tell them!!!)  :'( :'(

Title: Re: help
Post by: meganjane on July 19, 2012, 02:49:49 am
Technically, you should go through your consultant, if you still have one.
When you ring HO, make sure that you tell them the code on the bottom of your machine. They want to be able to keep track of faults.

Good luck Uni!

Uni the machine wont have to go to Perth there is someone in Sydney that will fix it or they did with mine anyway, I think he is on the coast or somewhere. Hope you have a box to send it in, I think they came and picked it up
Title: Re: help
Post by: judydawn on July 19, 2012, 03:18:22 am
Uni, so sorry to hear that but great that it is still under warranty - you will be lost without it but if it's just the blades which need replacing, you shouldn't have to wait too long.  Your machine has done a lot of work, probably more than anyone's and if they take it away, they will even be able to tell you how many hours it has done as it has a 'black box'. This is another reason why a second bowl is useful - just swap them over to check if the other bowl works and then you have a spare whilst the offending equipment is fixed or replaced.  I hope you get a quick reply to your problem from H.O.  :-* :-* :-* :-* :'( :'( :'(

Uni did they say your blade problem was common? Lucky your TMX was in warranty, but I worry that once my warranty is out of date, things will start to go wrong. (My dad keeps getting in my ear saying I'm going to wear the machine out!)
Title: Re: help
Post by: fundj&e on July 25, 2012, 05:47:02 am

Title: Re: help

won't hurt to keep them, I would.
Title: Re: help
Post by: judydawn on July 25, 2012, 12:57:49 pm
I'm sure we are all guilty of overloading our bowl at times and the end result can sometimes be what happened to Uni's blades. I know when I had a problem with my machine (in warranty) it was probably my fault.  I was making pumpkin soup and instead of cooking the pumpkin first, I decided to chop it and the pieces were quite big and the bowl was full.  It was shortly after that when my speed dial wouldn't turn and my machine had to be taken away for repairs.  Luckily my blades survived and I am still using them almost 2 years after that incident.

guilty,i have made the olive oil bread rolls from the UK site a few times.but i would think if its on the official site it would be ok

also have grated parmesan cheese @ 200gram instead of 150 grams

Post by: cookie1 on November 28, 2016, 08:34:51 am
I had to have a look at all these posts as my blades were a little crazy. They were going round but making a horrid noise. When I took the bowl out I could spin the blades very easily. Fortunately I had an old set I could use. This was in the 31 so I can't complain. DH still got his milkshake using frozen banana. 😄😄

It pays to have spare blades cookie.
Title: Re: help

I was going to order another set but DH has decided he is going to pull these apart and see what makes them tick. I have the TM5 so I won't be desperate if these others die too.

I can't believe what happened to me this morning. Thought I would make a smoothie with left over fruit salad, threw in the fruit, yoghurt, ice and a cup of water then noticed water over my bench!!! Someone had put the blade in the jug on the machine without the base on. Sort of thing you read about! I hope it's ok. It was TM5 and my first reaction was to tip it over.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow when I will try and turn it on.
