Lunch sounds delicious Chookie. Margaret I'm sure you aren't sad to see the end of the tomatoes. CC we enjoy quiche. I usually have some sort of quiche each week. I think the last one was leek and cheddar, it was quite nice, although Quiche Lorraine is always a favourite.

I am attempting some GF Hot Cross Buns and some Vegan Hot Cross Buns. The latter are the easiest, they may be massive failures.

The GF Hot Cross Buns are out of the oven and I'm pleased with them. Hopefully they will taste as nice as they look.
I've never done GF before so I did some reading and based the experiment on Chookie's wonderful recipe.
I will see what they taste like before I post the GF adaptions.

I couldn't resist any longer Judy. DH and I shared one. They are heavier than a normal HCB but I expected that. After my reading I cut back on the liquid a little and didn't knead for very long at all and gave them a shorter rising time. I think the person that they are for will be very pleased. They said they usually miss out.

Margaret, or anyone else with an excess of cherry tomatoes just now, I found this recipe for Tomato Cobbler the other day and it looks very interesting.  Unfortunately, I don't have any cherry tomatoes, much less an excess, but if I did I would definitely give this one a go!

Thanks for that recipe Marina.  Looks good.will make a 1/2 recipe.
We have had lots of Cherry toms this year.
Found this recipe, very nice.
Cook 6 cloves of garlic in a little oil in a large pan, add 200 g sliced mushrooms and cook 3 to 4 minutes. Add 1 to 2 cups cherry toms and warm them through. Add as much silver beet or spinach as you can fit in pan and cook just enough to wilt leaves.  Serve.
Made this twice yesterday. All gone so must be OK.
I only had to buy the mushrooms as we grew the rest of the ingredients.

Thanks for the recipe Marina, it sounds good. All my small tomatoes are finished now but there are still some large ones to go.

Chookie, I have also taken note of your recipe as well.

The tomato cobbler looks nice and your recipe would make an excellent dish too Chookie. I've taken note of it.

My Vegan Hot Cross buns looked the same as the GF ones, but were softer and rose more. I was thrilled with both. Apparently they were all enjoyed and I have had requests for the recipe. Chookie I do hope you don't mind if I pass your recipe on, with the GF modifications.

I'm going to make some easter biscuits using the festive flavours gingerbread recipe it's my favourite one  I'll also do a sugar cookie too for those who don't like gingerbread   oh and some vanilla  cupcakes and some hollow chocolate crackles shaped like an egg filled with mini smartie eggs   probably too much sugar in above cooking but oh well

Delicious buns cookie.
I've made 4 batches of chookies hot cross buns this week. Some to eat some to gift. The house smells wonderful. I also made ES's Parkin cake (it's divine), and skinnymixers choc chip muesli bars.
