Thanks for your comment, Chookie, I wondered where they came from.  To be honest, I nearly contacted you yesterday to get some advice from you, but we came across a very informative site based in Adelaide and that was really a big help.  We have removed all the straw from the coop, but could you suggest what I can use to line the nesting boxes?  TIA

Marina, chooks like a nest of straw. Can also use rice hulls, ( hard to get in small quantities )  Even shredded paper will do.
I ve worked out an easy method for putting my recipes on Cookidoo. . Should I post it .?
I’ve had to write it down so I don’t forget.

DH and a friend a building a Model A racer to race at Lake Percolilli in September. Its 45 km out of Kalgoorlie and is red dust and then more red dust. They were going to work on it today but it is going to be very hot and tomorrow too.

I had my eyes tested today, and I need some new glasses.  I can keep my reading ones and just have new lenses in them but my main pair are held together with band aids and they couldn't repair them.  They do look rather sad but I like them.   Then went to the supermarket for a few things.

Hot X Buns are in the shops already.   I have seen a couple of fun recipes that I might try.

I did my grocery shopping this morning. It was a mad house. No toilet paper, tissues, chicken, panadol, nurofen and goodness knows what else. People were buying several cartons of soft drink at a time. I didn't need any of the above thank goodness. I wanted some kidney beans for a taco dish but the only legumes I could find was a tin of 4 bean mix, so I grabbed that.
DH had an email from a young man who is building next door to MIL's house that it appeared to have been broken into. He went to check it out this morning and a male person had broken in through the bathroom window. DH found him cowering behind a bedroom door. He told him to get going or he would call the police. I don't think he did it politely. The guy left in a hurry. Sad that he needs to do that but we would prefer it if he chose some where else. DH made the house secure again and reported it to the police. He is sort of thinking about having the house demolished as it isn't fit for anything else. We will see what happens.

I hope he gave him a good clip around the ears before he let him go cookie, was he expecting to find the intruder still in the house? I wouldn’t have been brave enough to go in there.

I haven’t been to the supermarket for 10 days so I’ve no idea of what they have and what they haven’t got.  I can survive on what’s in the freezer and pantry for a good while yet and have 2 packets of every mouth product I need, I stocked up before Christmas - heaven help me if they were to run out of of those products.

My crazy day with DS , we nearly in fact i did miss appointment with GP for my calcium injection , I rang very traumatised , they quickly fitted me in them I had to have full blood test done too . Both of us to skin specialist I had cold freezer treatment on my nose and leg . DS was traumatised as he had the once over , checking between toes etc for cancer spots , they check your derrière as well ...Opps forgot to tell him , he is fine . Then we packed up and headed home ... all exits off Westgate bridge were closed , detour took us so long to get home DS drove once off the main road . Pleased to be back to kittens (Tommy too skinny so had to feed her and remove the kittens to make sure she ate ),boys mess, late BBQ meal , washing . Try to get some sleep ,back on the road am to deal with family matters 🙄 I’m going to hide under a rock one day soon . But the kittens have grown and tonight they climb up the tree with DS. So love it when they are little soft and cuddly.

Gosh, Cookie, that intruder was cheeky, being in the house when DH got there.

K Atie, sounds like a hectic day.

DH and I got our booster shots yesterday - 2 hours from when we left home, queued at the walk in clinic as we hadn't pre-booked, got 'processed' and back home again.  Pretty good service and timing.

Marina, glad you got your booster.
K Atie, try and get some ME time. Things are stressful at the moment. Time with kittens is good.  The Chooks follow me around the garden and I laugh at their antics.
Cookie, was that man in the house looking for accommodation or robbery? Very brave DH.
Still need to type up instructions for Cookidoo, Sorry for delay.  Not like me at all to put things off.
Quick trip to Pharmacy. I ring and order and they hand it to me and out I go.  Returned to car and someone had swiped the side of car. No message just a mess. Fortunately it was just the Vito van. Unfortunately it is the car I prefer to drive. Not worth too much concern as no one injured. Just a nuisance.

The chooks follow me around the garden as well, Chookie.  They are good fun.  They come right up to me but don't like being touched or picked up (they created chaos every time we had to treat them for mites - we were not their favourite humans for a couple of hours on those days!).

Isn't that a b##mer about your car. People simply do not take any responsibility for their actions these days. Do you know if anyone saw what happened?

So far  ;) the booster has been OK, a little bit of mild pain, but really only an awareness of having had the injection, but DH was pretty tender overnight.  He said he is OK now.  We are just glad we have got it done.

Well done Marina. Family members have said they were only left with sore arms with their booster.
The person in MIL's house was camping there illegally. DH noticed his boots outside before he went in. He was quite hesitant about going in and made a lot of noise. No Judy he didn't clip him under the ear. I'm glad as this guy was about 50 years younger than DH. He went and finished securing the last window this morning. The naughty man had been going in and out via the bathroom window. DH said he was tall and skinny. He did a police report but of course they can do nothing.
He is thinking about having the house demolished.
