Hi everyone  :)
I havenít posted for ages, as life is keeping me quite busy.  I still enjoy reading what everyone is up to.

On 1st May Mum went into a nursing home for 28 days respite.  Mumís age and her Parkinsonís disease, meant her living at home alone wasnít really an ongoing option.  She hated the nursing home at first, but after a while settled in ok.  The nursing home was close to me, but the room she had was very noisy (stuck right between the kitchen and a storeroom) and she had a shared bathroom.  After the 28 days respite, she could have become a permanent resident, but I made the decision to extend her respite, in the hope the nursing home could find her a better room.

It turned out to be a good decision, as a better room did become available, but not in that nursing home Ė but in Wesley House (where Judyís Mum and Geoff are).  Mum moved in last Thursday.  Her room is so much nicer and Wesley House is just wonderful, a lot better than the previous nursing home.  Mumís in a different wing than Judyís Mum and Geoff, but Judy has been going out of her way to help me and to help Mum settle in.  Thanks Judy  :D

Just need to sort out Mumís house now, and then hopefully I can return to cooking!  :)

Really nice to hear from you Katie. Ral and I were wondering how you and DH were going. Difficult times for you. Nice to know that your Mum is at Wesley house. Does seem good, and with Judy keeping an eye on things. Couldn't be better.

Don't know where to post this, but the new book I bought has a link to a SD cook's blog. It is quite good.

Thanks for that link Chookie, it looks very interesting.

Hi Katie, lovely to hear from you. I feel for you and your Mum. My Mum had Parkinson's too and went into care. It is so lovely that she can be in Wesley.

That's great news Katie, my Mum is in care, and Dad is in the a unit in the same complex. They usually settle in quiet fast.
Glad things worked out for you all, with your Mum.

One of the bonuses for me is that I get to see more of Katie when she visits her Mum on her days off. I have 2 friends with a relative in there now.  It's my home away from home.

Very negative report on TMX administration in today's Age newspaper. Seems it is past time when HO took a very good look at how TMX organisation is being run in Australia.
