Easy Aspragus Smoothie for the next 2 nights https://iliveforgreens.com/easy-asparagus-smoothie/. Looks nothing like the recipe so I presume they added some leafy greens. I stuck to the recipe and added some sustagen. Very nice.

Made these for the freezer for the grandkids, GS has his friends over all the time so I told him I’d make some snacks for them. His Mum is always feeding them so it might take the pressure off her too.

I have a pair of white ring neck doves who have chosen one of my hanging baskets to nest in, what lovely birds they are. I’ve never had them here before so I’m super excited to see them raise their family right outside my back door. They’re used to me going in and out many times a day, although one was spooked when I went out yesterday to pull down the shade blinds as it was quite a hot day. I love it when they coo each other to change over shifts.

I love places that have a business and a coffee shop Chookie, even Bunnings have one which I’ll be using next time I go there with a gift voucher which also included a free coffee.

Ice trays will be fine for 1 Chookie, I just put a few trays in and then bag them up.
By the way, how did the kids come up with “head soup”. 9

Tonight’s meal was a Celery Smoothie https://saltandbaker.com/celery-smoothie/
I made it before going down to the kids’ place for the day, it tasted better when I returned home than when freshly made. Silly me, I used all frozen ingredients so should have only added water instead of ice-cubes to blend it so as a consequence the smoothie didn’t blend well and I ended up adding 2.5 more cups of almond milk with the sustagen to come up to a good texture. I’ll be having this one for breakfast tomorrow and my evening meal as well, I’m learning a lot as I go on this journey but so far have not had to throw any out. 11

Chookie I’ve only made 4 so far over a 6 night period as some are large enough for 2 meals.
https://thenutritionadventure.com/chocolate-strawberry-power-smoothie/ This was really nice but I replaced the cocoa powder with 3 scoops chocolate sustagen and used prunes in lieu of dates as I didn’t have any dates at that time. 6 oz of milk is 178 ml. This Broccoli smoothie was nice too https://www.google.com/gasearch?q=saltand%20baker.com%20broccoli%20smoothie&source=sh/x/gs/m2/5. I froze 3 bags of this one then just added the pineapple juice and water once it was in the TM jug plus my usual addition of the Sustagen powder. How this changes the taste of the smoothie I don’t know but this Berry Cabbage one was not nice until I added it https://iliveforgreens.com/green-cabbage-smoothie/ Some recipes have added protein powder in them so this is virtually what I’m adding when using the Sustagen. I don’t expect to like them all but I’d like to try them all and end up with a good selection of enjoyable smoothies as a replacement meal. 13

Great baking cookie, that twist looks amazing.
I made some savoury muffins to take down to DD’s for the grand final, unfortunately I picked the wrong tub of flour and made them with plain flour. I wondered why they were strange but soon realised when I put the container back into the pantry. In the bin they went. As I want to take something down there I went shopping and bought the ingredients for these sausage rolls from Taste https://www.taste.com.au/recipes/mini-caramelised-onion-sausage-rolls/8rijn4qk They aren’t as dark as they look so will reheat OK. 14

The smoothies are worth a try Chookie. I imagine you’ll be doing a lot of cooking for GD’s 21st, that will be right up your alley.

As you can see K Atie, there is nothing pretty about fruit & veg smoothies if you add spinach, it’s all about the taste. This is the one I had last night and having the rest of it tonight. |
