Title: Make your own baking paper
Post by: Cuilidh on October 26, 2020, 10:50:22 pm
If you find you have been caught without baking paper, you could try this - https://www.pipmagazine.com.au/eat/diy-greaseproof-paper/  I haven't given it a go yet as I only saw it this morning, but it looks very environment friendly and could come in useful.

Marina I have a sneaking suspicion that this may be a very old solution. Seeing the brown paper impregnated with the oil seemed sort of familiar. Many years ago it would probably have been dripping- at least in my home as the only oil around would have been for cars. 😀😀 it certainly seems a brilliant and easy idea.

I don't have that memory, Cookie, but I do remember that we used to get butter wrapped in paper and my mother used that for lining her tins.
