Hi Chookie, hoping you see this. I’m back here after a long break and my first recipe to help bring back the love was your rolls, made into cheese and bacon rolls for lunch today. The family were very happy indeed!!

I just wanted to ask some questions if that’s ok.

If I want to make pizza dough should I use this exact recipe? Still with two rises or just the one?

I’ve noticed that the main difference between the ingredients in your recipe and others is the use of oil. I’m just curious, what difference do you think the oil would make to the finished product?

I saw a recent post by you where you tried the cold oven method for the second rise. Which do you now prefer?

Finally, whenever I’ve seen people making bread on tv they seem to knead for a really long time. Yet with the TM we only do 4 mins. Is that because the TM gives a more powerful knead?

Thanks so much for sharing all your bread making advice. I have spent the weekend reading old threads to give myself a lesson in bread making.

Thank you so much for all that advice Judy. It’s been really helpful. I probably should put mine in for a service but I have my eye on a bright red Kitchen Aid. I don’t have much bench space though so really need Thermie gone before I can get one.

So excited to see you again Judy! I’m afraid I still have those old, horrible recipe books. In fact, I pretty much stopped using my TM a few years ago. I’ve just recently been thinking I need to start using it again though, Is the forum the best place for me to find tried and trusted recipes? Have you all still got your TM31s or have you all upgraded? My machine is 13 yrs old now. Have you ever heard of any that have died? How long do you think they last? Sorry for all the questions. You were always the person I remember best from on here xx

Chit Chat / Recipe Sites
« on: December 09, 2017, 02:28:11 am »
So in order to get my Thermie mojo back I’ve spent the last few days going through all the recipes on this site. I now have a pretty good list of recipes that I feel confident to try based on the success forum members have had. I was just wondering whether there are any other good, reliable sites that people get recipes from. I’ve had a look at the official TM recipe site but feel unsure as to how reliable those recipes are. Does anyone use them? There are an awful lot and I wonder how many have been tried. I guess the ratings give some idea. I just don’t have a lot of time now with baby in the house so really need recipes to be a success first time. Any particularly reliable blogs?

JudyDawn’s Mince Meat Curry followed by Strawberry Sorbet (made with just sugar and frozen strawberries as I didn’t have any ice).

Oh my! I love how this thread started in 2008 and I now on page 2079!!! Lol! Well I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I was back to basics today. After a move to Tasmania and back, a period of illness and then adopting my African princess this year (who has mild cerebral palsy) I kinda lost my Thermie mojo and became waaay to busy to cook properly (thanks to lots of therapy appointments). But I’m well and truly over the rubbish food we’ve been eating this year and ready for something better.

So what better way to start some good recipes than with the veg stock concentrate. Btw, did the recipe for this change at all when the new book came out for the TM5? Is the recipe in the TM 31 book the one everyone still uses? I then decided to use up the residue in the bowl by making judydawn’s French Onion Dip (sorry I can’t remember how to make it into a link)

Thanks Cookie....I agree, the forum feels like it has the tried and true recipes. I’ve tried looking at the official TM recipe site but after a dozen recipes came up just for macaroni cheese I got too overwhelmed.

Thanks Marina, I remember your username but that’s ok. There’s been a lot of members come and go over the years. Actually, I just looked and I joined the month after you!!
