Sorry don't know how to make the fig and aniseed bread, it sounds interesting.
Here is the recipe for the 5 seed bread if you want to use it.

Happy baking.

There was a lovely pear souffle that was published in a newspaper and the link was put on this site. Will see if I can find it.

A friend has made pears in red wine and steamed in the Varoma. It may be from the Varoma cookbook I'm not sure as I don't have it.

Drinks / Re: Traditional Indian Chai (somewhat)

Sim I have to admit I used tea bags( chai ones) and put them in the basket and added the milk to the bowl and put the TMX on speed 4 (I think) so that the milk churned around the tea bags and heated it to 70. Then poured it and added a tiny bit of honey.
Next time I go near a T2 shop I will get some Chai.

I hope all the West Aussies have registered in the poll (Where are you from?) Can't let "tother siders" beat us. (Even if we have to go out and purchase a TMX to be able to vote)

Bronte, I've been to quite a few of the classes at Charlie Gardiner and have always found them really good. They are quite different to the Back to Basics classes and you get lots of ideas and tips.

Welcome Thermobron, it's lovely to have another West Aussie here.  I hope you don't have to wait too long to receive your machine.

I wonder how the 5 seed bread is going?  I don't find it heavy at all. If it is too heavy for you perhaps 2 risings would solve that. We also love the Cape Seed bread, especially DD is most of the seeds are milled in that one.
Cyndi's herb bread is lovely too, you don't have to put the herbs in it.

After reading your recipe Sim I've had several Chai teas. The first couple I didn't rave about but then it was the sort of taste I wanted to go back too.  I cheated though and used tea in the TMX bowl and made it with milk that way.  The only thing I can't get used to is the fact that it really does need the honey.
Thanks for helping me to discover a new taste.

Over the last couple of years I've stopped icing my cakes as we're trying to take care of weight etc. (damn BIL for having that heart attack at 60) I did ice the Carrot and White Chocolate cake though and it was lovely. A real treat.
But then we don't have hungry people who will burn up all the energy in no time at all.

Yum. What's another kilo or two.  DD makes a Nigella one similar to this but much more difficult and time consuming.
Thanks.
