Recipe Book Recipe Reviews / Re: Different recipe book
« on: September 25, 2009, 10:00:10 am »
Grandma the Cape Seed Bread is every bit as lovely as the 5 seed bread, but I do see your point. I guess they just grabbed a book for each of you. Perhaps look at it this way.  If you have the old book as most of us do, you can get the updates and then you have both. If you had the new book you couldn't get updates for the old book so you only have the one lot of recipes. There's not a lot of changes. :P :P :-*

Breakfast / Re: Slow Cooker-Crockpot Yoghurt
« on: September 25, 2009, 07:32:00 am »
Congratulations Chelsea. Yoghurt can be hard to get exactly right. I'm afraid I still use Easi-yo and occasionally make my own natural yoghurt in the Easi-yo thermos thing.

Welcome Elisabeth. Do you still enjoy your Thermomix after 11 years? We're almost all new owners and are very addicted.

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / Re: Timing
« on: September 25, 2009, 07:22:46 am »
I think as we become more familiar with our machines these sort of things are easy to accept. I now put in a time and check, it is easy to add more. The TMX really is a new type of cooking. Keeps all my 'old' brain cells thinking. Unless I do something dumb like forgetting to put a temperature in for cooking. Come back in 10 minutes and wonder why it's not even warm.

Bread / Re: My FRUGAL FAN CHALLENGE #1 - No more bread! (from the store)
« on: September 25, 2009, 07:17:32 am »
Congratulations. I'm sure you'll be able to keep it up with the help of the TMX.
I eat nothing but 5 Seed bread now. I have to stop myself cutting the slices really thick. It seemed to stick together in the freezer so now I place a piece of cling wrap between each slice.

Cakes / Re: LEMON MUFFINS

It seems we all do similar things. Some cookies and cakes we keep for our use and others, usually recipes that I really want to try, go off with DH or DD.  Work colleagues are great for off loading onto.

Perhaps ask the demonstrator if they can make a couple of things you think you'll make a lot.

Lovely recipe Julie. I'm sure your photos add the kilos, not the fact that I plan to cook what you have photograped and then eat lots of it. This looks good for the weekend.

Welcome. I 'think' I know exactly where Yungaburra is, that's the place I would have gone over to from Atherton, am I correct? If so I loved it up there, so beautiful.

Good luck with getting the demo and purshasing your Thermomix.

Try fresh banana with frozen yoghurt cubes or if you use both frozen add a bit of liquid yoghurt to help it blend. (I hope I'm correct)

Yum, great suggestions. Will try a spot of maple syrup in the leftovers for tonight.

Shayla, we try not to have dessert unless we have guests, but I nearly convinced myself this was sort of healthy-I did use low fat cream !
