We always carry a pancake mix when we travel as it's a quick and easy snack for visitors. This will now be our pancake mix. Thanks.

I don't use the varoma for quiches but I do heat the eggs etc a little as per Nico's book and the quiche cooks so much faster.

Chit Chat / Re: When Children go Crazy, What do you Blame?
« on: October 09, 2009, 07:34:36 am »
I tend to agree with you. NOt all children seem to be affected by food but I have taught children who have been uncontrollable after lunch. When you ask what they have eaten it always has had specific food additives. One particluar little boy was affected so badly we would often have to send him home.
The friends I had round for lunch yesterday remarked how fresh the food from the TMX tasted compared to other food. They all commented on the naturalness (??) of the food I'd made.

I think the TMX could actually be an exception to the saying
'if it sounds too good to be true .................................'

Although it is expensive and very good it is true, as others have said you do make a lot of savings.

Beautifully written Helene. I'm going to take that as my horoscope for the next 20 years. :-*

Sim, if you're still looking for volunteers I don't mind being a guinea pig.

I love bookshops. I spend an eternity in the cooking section and then hours in the rest. I adore reading (although with the forum and my TMX it is taking a sad third). I would hate to admit how many cookbooks I have. DD is nearly as bad as I am. We had to have over 8 metres of ceiling high bookshelves put in and they're stacked in every which way there!! Even bouncing onto the floor. I keep cookbooks for ever but do pass on novels after I've read them. I just can't resist buying books. (another addiction I guess). I adore Borders in Carlton, Readers Feast and Dymocks in Melbourne.  Borders in Singapore and Perth. Our excess luggage is almost always books (maybe shoes too).

Ooh, the mind boggles.

I can just see the headlines now.

Thermomix cited in divorce courts as the other woman/man.

Chit Chat / Re: What are you cooking today?
« on: October 09, 2009, 02:37:55 am »
Yes Shayla please do. I must admit since having my TMX I haven't had an evening of 'what will I cook' but I'm sure it will happen and then I can look through here and see what others are having. Quite often I see things I haven't tried and knowing others are making it gives me the courage to give it a go.

TMXer your comments are sad but oh so true. :'(
Having said that there is certainly something about this forum-perhaps we are linked by our TMXes.  ;D ;D ;) ;) ;D

Hi Shanmac and welcome. Make sure you get your husband involved at the demo as most of us have found that it is our husbands who want the machine. They seem to love it for some reason or other.

Broccoli Salad
EDC page 40
Tweaking

I made this as per the recipe. Initially when I tasted it I didn't like it, but after standing (in the fridge) for a couple of hours I found that the flavours blended together.

I will be making this again.
