Yummy scones and cheesecake!

I made nut free bliss balls, rolled them up very small and called them 'Bunny Poo' for DD to give to her friends at playgroup tomorrow :)
I have a Facebook page with all things cooking, you'll find it here: https://www.facebook.com/What-Amber-Ate-1097437023601587/

Oops sorry, they are scones. Didn't look closely enough.

Love the bunny poo jam.

I used thermie again today and made a Thai vegetable curry and rice. Also used AF for first time but only chips for the little ones. They loved them. Looking forward to using AF soon using BZB's chicken recipes. They look sooo good.

Just catching up. What good cooks we have here.  Thanks for all the lovely photos.

Big cooking day here as family coming for Easter. 2 SD loaves, ( new recipe for one, will post if good, it has fresh basil and parsley in dough), 1 mini grain in SC, 3 bread sticks.  Mini Ice cream cakes with Easter Eggs in mix and on top. Asparagus and leek risotto, red wine and beef stew and 1/2 recipe of HXB in AF.

I made a traditional Dundee Cake - the recipe from my grandmother and made with the same ingredients, no additional flavors, no vanilla, no citrus zest or other flavorings that many of the "modern" recipes include.

I posted the recipe and some photos of it in progress and finished on my blog.

This cake has the advantage of being very "forgiving" and not at all sensitive to mishandling.  On one occasion the power went out right in the middle of baking and was off for 2 hours.  I left the cake in the oven (I have only electric ovens) and reset it and finished baking it after the power came back on.

Try and do that with a boxed cake mix...  Or most cakes -  for that matter.

I don't think I've ever bought a packet mix.

Made the hot cross buns Chookie. Hubby was supervising them. Hence they are now the dogs. :/

Oh that is such a waste of time and ingredients.  I would never trust my DH with the baking.

NewSD recipe.  Bread with basil and parsley. Don't like it . This is what happen when you are impatient with SD and bake it before it has risen properly.
