Nothing here as yet. Everyone has gone. DH to pick up some 'junk' from up near Northam. He and a couple of club members have gone. I am sure that it is good junk.  :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ it's only 8.30am so I am sitting having a coffee on here.

Tomorrow night I'm having a few girl friends over to celebrate a couple of birthdays within the bunch. I've got some mini quiches, and sausage rolls in the freezer. Currently making Pistachio Cake with Chocolate Ganache (KIS) topped off with some Nut Praline (KIS) for the birthday cake. Will also make some Quinoa & Spelt Crackers (FFS) and Pumpkin Seed Salsa (KIS) to go with it. Then all I'll have to do is a couple of nibbles plates tomorrow and lots of housework.

Good one JD.  That is on my list.

I went to the shopping centre today and was frightened by all the people greedily shopping . I got back into the car and decided. I would not buy anything until they all go home. I am emptying the pantry  and freezer until the end of April except for having to buy a ham for some visiting friends on the 28th. Not venturing near a grocery store until then.  There were tourists and kids and a huge Easter Bunny giving out fake choc eggs. I just got spooked I think or maybe a panic attack but really it was scary.  The parking lot was fuller than I had ever seen it. I should have stayed in the car. It was as if there would never be  another  shopping day ever .

I am sure I can go 15 days without buying any food except for a ham!

With 2 more shopping days until Easter, it will only get worse.  If you did need food, could you shop on line and have home delivery Gert.  It's worth the delivery fee and was very handy when I was unable to leave Geoff home alone.

I am sure I can manage. We have not one potato in the house but so what ? I will use my creative skills. Ok you guys know I have no creative skills so I will use yours!

I just do not want to buy anything. I was really put off. It is like having too much food on your plate. I have frozen veg and a huge cauliflower in the fridge, a bit of lettuce and 2 punnets of grape tomatoes.  I have rice , cous cous and quinoa. I have more baked beans than I want to say. This is a personal challenge now. I still have one crayfish tail and a whole chook plus who knows what I will find in the freezer. The dog will have to share. I see  more than 2 kilos of anchovies, 4 cans of sardines, 3 cans of SPAM ( a personal favourite). Have plenty of flour, yeast and a few eggs.  Plus I have two cans of tuna Judy.

I see some Haloumi and bacon in the freezer plus some unknown shredded cooked meat which with any luck may prove to be duck from some months ago.

It will be like camping with aircon. The wine rack is full. I will be surfing the forum for inspiration. I feel better already.  I was soooo depressed  when I got home from my non shopping trip.

Oh oh I see on TV right now Jamie is making a Beer Ass Chicken.

Oh I also see some gnocchi  in the pantry. Wonder when I bought that?

Think I am all set now.

Good luck Gert, if anyone can do it, it will be you.  Perhaps DH will take you out for a meal over Easter.

There will be a breakfast on ANZAC day and who knows, he may get  desperate for a steak. I know we don't have any in the freezer except a bit of rump I wanted for a curry.
