Wow! That was quick, JD. Thank you. I need practice converting too. Got to get rid of my L and P plates in that department soon and do it with confidence.

If anyone has access to persimmons, what are you favourite recipes to prepare persimmons in the Thermomix? I have two customers who love persimmons and I would like to surprise them from time to time with suggestions for Thermomixed persimmon recipes. This is a Persimmon Sorbet - standard demo recipe with my customer's yummy tweaks: 80 - 100g coconut sugar, milled to a superfine consistency. (Purchase coconut sugar from an organic food supplier.) small knob of peeled fresh ginger, ground up with the coconut sugar good pinch cinnamon 300g ripe persimmon pulp 700g ice (added in two portions of 350g) pear optional as a variation

Dear JD,
I went to convert the Green Soup I have made for some years (published by Elizabeth Godfrey) and noticed you'd already shared this one. Mrs Godfrey's recipe is water-based - or should I say chicken stock-based - but it is served with sour cream. Yours has broad beans. Hers had an optional ingredient which was "the tops of broad beans, when pinched out to stop growth". I thought you might find that an interesting connection. Her base greens are celery, silver beet and parsley, but she recommends people try anything green except cabbage family, which she finds too dominant.

Have been asked to demonstrate the joys of Thermomix to an American group and seeing as we're not too far from Thanksgiving, I wondered if the experienced users could assist me to develop some ideas on what might go over well and show off the awesome Thermomix effectively. I will edit as I think and do my research. Anyone have any immediate ideas to share, please? Thank you to this writer of this blog. I'll bet he/she is on this forum.

Dear joosmicra, Not sure if your crop is still producing, but I thought of your post when I saw the following recipe presented on tele this am: http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/44486185I think it's very intuitive to convert to TMX but haven't taken the time to write down a conversion yet. Hope that appeals, along with all the other delicious-sounding suggestions made by other forum members already. cecilia

I want to welcome you too, Delta. I hope all goes well with your next demo. Sit back, relax and enjoy. (Please excuse me if I'm being too curious, but I was wondering if you'd mind sharing what put you off at the demo you attended.) Thank goodness for this forum. It really is motivating at so many levels. Hope to read more of your posts on here once you get practising with your very own Thermomix.

Oh, you three are so encouraging. Thank you. I must add, judge the amount to add to the cream cheese, though. A packet of cream cheese only requires a cup or so of salad to make a nice dip, maybe even less.
I wouldn't serve up beetrooty things three meals in a row to others in the family, but I might have a beetroot salad leftover-type bortsch for my own lunch with nobody looking on though.
I do lurve beetroot salad, but I tend to forget how much it makes. Must halve the recipe when making it just for two!!

Please excuse this very basic tip, but if you find yourself with leftover fresh beetroot salad (EDC), just add cream cheese and you have a delicious dip.

Thank you, Chelsea and JohnRo. Loved this recipe and pinched the steamed baby carrots and broccolini idea to accompany it. Served it at lunch today to some garlic and seafood-loving friends and was very happy to see them going back for more. Much appreciated.

Have DS and DDIL coming for tea at short notice - checked the fridge and mmmm seem to have all the ingredients required to cook this JO asparagus, lemon and mint risotto. Looking for a nice vege soup or something chick-peaish too.

Thank you very much, RivMum. Your sharing is much appreciated. I wanted to remind forum members also, that there are good tips in the TM31 manual on page 39, if you're an English speaker, under the following headings: - Order of ingredients
- Weighing the ingredients
- Order of presetting
- Example: Cooking delicate food
- Example: Copping vegetables
- Example: Kneading dough
- Chopping and blending
- Heating times
A lot of people study their manual when they first buy the Thermomix but then forget what a treasure trove of helpful information it is.

Wordle is a cool text to graphic website. Wordle - beautiful word cloudsNo, this was nothing to do with Thermomix head office, CP. I constructed it from my own customers' feedback about their impressions at my own demonstrations.

On that sort of notice, I would just buy some paper cups and plastic spoons, then whip up a fruit sorbet or some yummy custard. I reckon the soccer boys would love it!
