Slightly Different Cauliflower/Broccoli in sauce

Cauliflower/Broccoli au Gratin with baby Spinach:
Number of People  8:
Ingredients:
½ cauliflower
small head of broccoli
1 leek
baby spinach leaves, at least 60g
EDC white sauce
2 slices frozen bread
½ cup cheddar cheese
½ cup parmesan


Preparation:
Preheat oven to 1800C.
Place cauliflower, cut into florets, and broccoli into varoma and cook on varoma, speed 3 for 15-20 minutes. Or until tender.
Add sliced leek in the last 5 minutes.
Place all these into a largish dish.
Put spinach over the top, as thickly as you can.
Dry  *: and place cheeses and broken up bread in. Grate at speed 7/8 until it is all done. (you will hear the sound change). Set aside.
 Rinse bowl and make the EDC white sauce.
Pour the sauce over the spinach mixture in the dish.
Sprinkle the cheese and breadcrumb mixture over.
Bake 30 minutes.

Tips/Hints:
This is adapted from a recipe in The Women's Weekly.
It is a tasty change from the usual cauli and cheese sauce. The spinach is sort of hidden too. ;)
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Since the weather was rather chilly here in Sydney, I was searching for a substantial vege dish to go with the corned beef. I always look on this forum first and am never disappointed. This dish is a winner thank you Cookie. It was so good that next time I'm will have to double it!

Thanks Gayle. I have cauli and broccoli and spinach in the fridge. Thanks for the reminder about this, we will be having it tonight.
