What are your top 10 recipes?
« on: December 03, 2010, 01:24:12 pm »
So I am sure we have done something like this before but what are your top 10 recipes for main meals? I am inspired by Caroline mentioning the teriyaki chicken and soba noodles from motm was one of her favorite 10 minute meals ;)

We last asked this question way back in May '09 and people's choices have probably changed now Meagan so a good call to ask again.  If you are interested in some of the earlier answers, check them out here.

My Top Ten meals - though I'm sure I'll post this and remember something that should really be on the list!!

Teriyaki chicken/beef/pork  (MOM)

Honey soy chicken wingettes (forum)

My quick easy curry (extra yummy with home made curry paste) (forum)

Butter chicken (Indian)

Chicken in yoghurt (EDC)

Prawns, cous cous/rice, veg and lime cream sauce (varoma) Prawns and cous cous has always been dd2's fav meal. This is so easy with the TMX and can do rice for the ones that don't like cous cous much and a sauce all in less time/easier than the regular meal.

Beef stroganoff (edc - usually with a bit more cayenne)

Chicken rolls - varoma all in one meal - chicken fillet flattened and rolled with a variety of fillings - cheese and ham, feta and spinach, feta and sundried tomatoes - whatever.

Beef casserole and then leftovers for pie - love Robyn's gourmet beef, or a Beef in Beer recipe I made up (think I posted it as a pork in beer?) Great to make a large batch, casserole and rice one night and then a pie with the rest.

And although not my fav but the kids love pasta. So regularly do a pasta dish - sort of based on the creamy tomato salami fettucine from the EDC but usually less cream and not usually salami.
dh, dd3 and I would probably say a hotter curry instead.

Honourable mention to being able to make gravy for roast so quickly and easily in the TMX and marinades for meats for the bbq.

I have had the morrocan and mongolian lamb recipes (motm) on the meal plan for weeks and sure when they actually get made one will make the top ten.

Oh and I know it's a number eleven but chicken stir fry - so easy and yummy. Haven't had it in weeks so probably why it's slipped to number 11, but on next weeks plan.

I think I'll need to think seriously about this as I don't make the same thing very often.
We love curries either meat or chicken.
Baf's award winning chicken and tweaks
Quiches with all the prep done in the TMX
Robyn's beef casserole
and...
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.
