Cook-key of Thermomix
« on: January 11, 2017, 03:20:24 am »
Hi everybody

I just placed an order of TM5, I live in US and apparently the cook-key is not released yet in the US
I see some cook-key sold online from other countries, my question is: is a cook-key from germany or France compatible with TM5 machine from USA? or it will show everything in original language
I hope one with experience will have some answers to my questions
Thanks to all of you

I honestly don't know, but at a guess I'd say each country has things ( units of weight and measurement, and language) for their own country.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Thx for the answer, I wish one who owns it can tell us what it does exactly

You will receive a basic cookbook with your machine. Here in Australia and I think , in the UK you get the chip that goes on the machine for each book.

Germany has the Cook-Key. They say it might be released here in the U.K.this year.I know of one person here in the a U.K. who bought one from Germany but she didn't say whether which language you need to use it. I'm afraid I don't know exactly how it works.I would ask your Thermomix Advisor for help on this subject or email HO for answers.

Sorry but the person who bought the Cook-Key isn't a member on the Forum.
There is a USA Thermomix Consultant who is a member here. She is extremely helpful.
Her Forum name is Melissa USA Consultant. Here are her details

Yes, I agree. Melissa is more likely to know what's going on in America than us.

If you can get hold of the cook-key from another country you can use it to access all your recipes on your own cookidoo platform in the language of the country your machine is registered in.  I'm not sure that makes sense but if I buy a cook-key from France I can use it in the UK to access all my recipes, in English, on the UK Cookidoo platform.

Thanks Nik. It's quite clear. A good idea too.
