I made 1 1/2 batches of these today.

Presentation wise they were a big failure (I was too impatient and took them off the baking tray whilst they were still hot so ended up with more of a cookie crumble!) but they are definitely tasty.  I didn't have any lavender so for the full batch I substituted lemon myrtle.  For the 1/2 batch I used macadamia's instead of almonds and wattle seed instead of the lavender.

Now I need to put them away so I don't steal a piece every time I walk past.  They are addictive.

I was at our local markets on the weekend, and there was a lavender stall there selling specially marked "culinary lavender".  According to them, only certain varieties of lavender should be used in cooking, not just anything picked off any bush.  I didnt know that before ..........

Just whipped up a batch of these another fantastic and quick recipe from Tenina, bought some lavender at the spice shop but not freeze dried. It's hard stopping at just 1.

I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

I had some dried lavender given to me for Christmas (thanks Karen  :-*) so this was the first recipe I've used it in.

I am never sure how many biscuits to make when there is no quantity given or size of the roll of dough so I just did my own thing and ended up with 68 little biscuits about 4cm after rolling the dough to 2.5 cms rolls.  Note to Tenina, please can you indicate quantities, sizes etc in your next publication  :-* :-*

Mine look nowhere as good as Julies but they are tasty and I kept going back to see if the next one was as tasty as the last  :-))  I think it is more an adult biscuit but the flavour of the lavender is so subtle, maybe the kids won't even notice.

I find it hard to add quantities of biscuits etc cos it really depends on the size of the roll in this instance, or the cookie cutter or whatever, but I have been reprimanded Judy, and I will try harder in 2013…promise.

Tenina, I'd be happy if you just included the size cutter you use and the quantity you end up with.  It's just nice to have a guide of some sort as often the end result depends if the cookie/biscuit has been cooked long enough and if we don't know how big they should be, it's hard to know if the size is correct for the cooking instructions IYKWIM  :-* :-*

I made a batch of these yesterday. I didn't have any lavender so just put a good pinch of vanilla powder.
