Recipe Requests / No wine risotto?
« on: October 30, 2012, 05:53:44 am »
I have a friend who is vegetarian and also can't have alcohol. Does anyone have a vegetarian risotto recipe without wine or know if it is possible to leave the wine altogether and just add some extra water to a regular recipe?

Thanks guys!

Cakes / Re: Chocolate Orange Refrigerator Biscuits

These biscuits are light, crispy and incredibly more-ish. Gorgeous! Best of all, I love that I can freeze the dough or keep it in the fridge whenever I need to make some cookies quick. Great recipe. Thanks!

Soups / Re: Moroccan carrot and lentil soup

Wow! This is soup-er! Simple, tasty and cheap! The soup is lovely and thick, and the flavour is spot on, I just needed to add a little salt. I reckon you could use the spice combination from the Moroccan Tomato and Red Lentil Soup in the Everyday Cookbook if you didn't have ready made seasoning to hand. This recipe is a keeper! Thanks for sharing  ;D

Introduce Yourself / Cooking up a storm!
« on: October 27, 2012, 12:31:38 am »
A thermomix has been top of my wish list ever since I saw it at my trainer's demo in May. It took me a couple of months to encourage my husband to splash the cash, but we've been feeling the thermie love ever since!

I got thyroid cancer twice last year - the whole journey was quite a rollercoaster - so in an effort to stay sane and keep out of mischief, I started to blog about my experience. During my diagnosis, treatment, and subsequent "recovery", cooking and running have kept body and soul together (but not cooking and running at the same time, you understand!) As a result, www.theannoyedthyroid.com  has evolved into a curious mix of cooking and cancer.

I've been cooking up a storm in that thermie, and I love the healthy food it makes, and that it's all so fast, fresh and fabulous! The recipes on the forum look amazing and I've made a good start trying them out!

In the meantime, feel free to drop by the blog and  see what's cooking! Of course, feel free to comment!

Must dash, it's time to have some fun on this forum! ;D
