Friend at Probus asked if I would show her how to cook things in her AF. Not just reheat. Especially scones. Ive done so in the past but thought i had better brush up. I made Nay Nays recipe in TMX. And tried two different times and temperatures. Best, preheated for 5 minutes, 6 , 6 cm scones for 8 minutes, turned over, cook further 2 minutes. Perfect Today I’m baking Almond crackle biscuits and zucchini falafels for DD

Ha Cookie. It will probably taste of smoke. Before I was shown the correct settings on my new oven, all my bread was burnt on the top. Growing lots of zucchinis. Might try Zucchini fingers dipped in Parmesan and panko crumbs and baked in Ninja.

Ha, Cookie, real escapism. I’m reading Chancellor, Angela Markel, by Kati Marton. It’s very interesting as during our life time. The writing is clear but uninspiring.

Made ‘Spring Rolls’ based on lots of cabbage and other veggies but added thin slices of beef and some curry powder. Microwaved everything first and cooled before wrapping in Spring Rolls pastry. Cooked 10 minutes in AF. Better than I expected.

Marina, sounds lovely and fresh for this hot weather. Another hot day. Hate it. I’ve cancelled a coffee catch up. Too hot. Dinner last night. Opened a small tin of Salmon and ate it with a spoon.

Made 11 jars of berry and plum jam. Used Pomegranate juice instead of water for extra flavour boost. Cauliflower when grated does smell like cabbage to me. I’m rather sensitive to smells so others may not have the same reaction.

Back to Tai Chi and Probus Mah Jong today. It’s going to be hot but both places have A/C so should be ok.

Salmon cooked outside on the Ninja BBQ. Salad. Had visitors and cooked lamb cutlets on Ninja. They returned home and immediately ordered a Ninja.

Thanks Marina, that really is funny. I’ve finally got the Solar panels switched on and am looking at what appliances use the most electricity. The TMX , so far is the top consumer. But under normal circumstances we only use it for a short time. However when I make jam, it is in constant use for 1 hour at a time. I’ll make sure that I make jam when the sun is shining.
