Well pleased to report that cake release works!!!!! Made the Magic Bean cake today to take to dinner with a Gluten Free friend and this time it slid out of the tin perfectly. Sorry still have not worked out to add the links but both recipes on the Forum. of course made the Ganache in TMX also.

That looks delicious and very pretty. A very lucky friend.

Lovely looking cake Deniser. I love anything chocolate. ;D
Do you think this cake release would work with pies? My chicken & veg pie stuck to the tin when I tried to get it out.

Oops fundj - no I didn't use GF flour in the cake release - luckily don't think it will be an issue in this case but will bear it in mind for next time. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. Checked that the other ingredients were GF - even the chocolate for the ganache but was so excited about the solution to the problem that I never even gave that a thought! I cooked it at about 360 C for 35 minutes.

i made and double batch of the Magic Bean cake a few weeks ago and that took about 2 hours
-
Oh Dear fundj - 2 hours seems excessive! Actually I nearly made a double batch for this occasion but at the last minute changed my mind - thank goodness. Did you make it in a ring tin? I did find that nearer the centre it was still a little moist but decided to go with that as it made a nice dessert sort of texture.

no i didnt use a ring tin, i think i will next time, but only the 1 batch ;D
