DD your holiday sounds nice apart from the marathon. That is just sheer hard work getting fit enough to run it in the first place, I hope you achieve your goal you have obviously set yourself.
Hope you and your dear wife enjoy your time together.

My DD came through her surgery without problems and came home yesterday. She is stiff and sore and not suppose to do much of anything. I spent yesterday afternoon and evening with her till her DH got home at 8.30.
Kids were pretty well behaved and after getting dinner done, I got them bathed and listened to 6 yo do his reading homework. They were asleep by 7.30.
I have the morning free to go to my craft group, yay! Her DH has the day off.
We have a wedding to go to tomorrow, I bought the dress quite a few weeks ago thinking the weather would be warmer, at least the reception is at the Duxton hotel in the city, so should be warm inside.

I'm pleased that your DD is ok Katj. Lovely for you to have a little time off.

Lovely looking bread Chookie.

DD I'm sure you will enjoy your holiday ones you get there, good luck with the marathon.
Katj pleased to hear that you DD is ok.
The last couple of days I have been making Christmas cards, decided to start early this year and not leave it to the last minute, of course I had to pick a hard card to make, I'm really happy how they turned out.

This is the inside.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

Lovely card Jenny, you certainly did chose one with a lot of detail.  I hope you don't have to make too many but hand made cards are always appreciated.  I don't know too many people who do them at Christmas time though.

Lovely long loaf Chookie, with all the rain we've had it's great for spending indoors baking.

Enjoy your respite today and the wedding tomorrow Katj, your SIL will take good care of DD I'm sure.

Today at my Probus meeting we made it a special day for 2 members' 70th birthdays.  I hired one of the nursing home entertainers and we both took in a nice morning tea. I've never seen the ladies go home so happy, they absolutely loved our entertainer.  Unfortunately I had to step into the shoes of our Secretary who couldn't make it today and although I got through it OK, I will be happy to hand her job back to her next month.  I know they want me to take her place when the time comes and I guess I will but I don't really want to.

Jen, you are very talented. Everyone appreciates a hand made card.
Yesterday we went to my favourite shop in Ballarat.  It is called Wilsons. It is mostly a green grocer but also sells Deli items and everything for making a gourmet meal. They have lots of little baskets and plates around the shop with new products to taste. Yesterday I sampled black corn chips. A lot of the Ham and bacon is from Tassie.
I bought Ral a coffee from the shop and he was happy to sit in the car while I indulged in inspecting everything.
They also have individual serves of prepared food and this would explain the large number of older people at Wilsons.

The kitchen shop used to be my favourite but I am make a determined effort to keep away from there.

Wilsons sounds a lovely shop Chookie.
Judy secretary is a big job, but you would do well I'm sure. The Probus people obviously have faith in you. It would have been lovely to see the ladies so happy. Another of our friends turns 70 early next month and his daughters are having a surprise High Tea for him. I know it will be lovely.

Yes, it sure is a big job cookie.  I ended up with a bad back typing out the minutes of the 2 meetings, only did the one on Friday night and the other one tonight.

I hope your friend doesn't read your posts on the forum LOL.

I think you would make a wonderful secretary Judy ☺ I've been reading your Probus posts with interest as there is a person I know who may benefit from being part of such a group.
