This is a very easy variation on basic porridge :)
Apple, Sultana and Cinnamon Porridge
Ingredients:
2 apples, quartered and cores removed
120g oats
600g milk
80-100g sultanas
1 heaped tsp cinnamon, or to taste
Method:
1. Grate apples for 2-3 seconds/speed 5 or until desired consistency.
2. Add remaining ingredients and cook for 10 minutes/90 degrees/reverse + speed 1.
Easy peasy :D
This recipe makes about 3 serves depending on how hungry everyone is! ;D
I'll post a photo tomorrow when I make it again ;)
-
Yum! Just the reminder I need to start eating better breakfasts.
Does this make a 'soupy' or thick porridge? I like thick porridge so I'll just adjust amount of liquid if I need to.
-
Yummy Amy another one to try.
-
Your list of recipes to try must be getting pretty long now Kimmy ;D
Jamberie, I would say this porridge is roughly in the middle. You will be able to see in my photo tomorrow ;)
-
It is Amy and I am trying so hard not to get in a panic about it. :) :)
-
We luv apple n oats. Thanx for another one to add to my "must try" list
-
No worries CD ;)
It is Amy and I am trying so hard not to get in a panic about it. :) :)
Hehehe.... all I can say is "good luck" ;D ;D ;D

I've just posted a couple of photos from this morning. As you can see, it is a bit thick and sticky, but thats how mum and SD like their porridge. You could easily make it runnier with more milk or even some apple juice ;)
-
Yum Amy that looks delicious, one thing I haven't made in the tm is porridge, I'm going to make it tomorrow
-
Thanks suzanne! :D I hope you like it :)
-
I'm sure I will Amy, I haven't disliked any of your recipes ;D
-

My girls enjoyed this for breakfast over the weekend Amy - sorry I only just remembered to review here! :-[
They said it was very yum and could they have it again tomorrow? :D
Oh, BTW, they ate it all between the 3 of them. :)
-
It was very good Amy. :) I found that the cooking time was not quite long enough and had to extend it by 3 minutes.
-
I'm glad you got the consistency you like in the end Den :D I cook it for a different length of time nearly every time I make it because my preferred porridge thickness changes with my mood :-))
Astarra, glad to hear the girls liked it :D They must have been hungry! ;) Coming into colder weather I'll be making porridge more often too. I'll have to make your blueberry baby breakfast again, that is yummy ;D
-
Yummo. Made this for breakfast this morning. Enjoyed by all!
-
Glad to hear it Bettie Bangs! ;D

I made a slight variation of this recipe this morning and it was delicious :)
Kids loved it too!
I did the following -
2 apples, cored
4 fresh Medjool dates
20g LSA
160g rolled oats
860g water
Pure maple syrup and milk to serve
1) Place apples and dates in TMX. Shred on speed 6 for 5 seconds
2) Add LSA, oats and water. Cook for 11 mins, 100C, reverse speed 2
3) Serve into 4 bowls, drizzle with syrup and milk to serve.
-
That looks and sounds delicious Julia, I will have to try it! Thanks for your review! :D
-
This morning I made very varied variation on this porridge which I thought I would share ;D
100g oats
350-400g milk
100g juice, drained from tinned pears (the sliced ones)
4 tbsp chia seeds
50g sultanas
1 heaped tsp cinnamon
5-6 slices tinned pear, depending on size
Put everything except pear slices in TMX bowl and cook for 8 minutes/90 degrees/reverse + speed 1.
Add pear slices and cook for a further 2 minutes.
It was a lovely change from the apple :D
-
That does sound a nice change Amy, might try it on the girls during this week and let you know their comments. :D
-
I hope they like it astarra :D I still need to try the apple puree and milo porridge ;D
-
