Recipe Requests / Re: Proper Custard« on: May 19, 2016, 01:50:52 pm »
Cuilidh I make a dairy free version of the EDC custard all the time as a family member is dairy free. I use coconut milk instead of milk it is delicious. It is also good with soy milk and brown sugar instead of white sugar. It makes caramel custard and is a tweak on Quirky Jo's caramel custard recipe. Enjoy!

I use the custard recipe in the EDC. It is very reliable and adaptable and above all tasy! It is smooth and very easy to make.

It was great reading this thread!
Not only a lovely sounding pudding as pears come into season. But an historic account of a time when achoockwoman posted one of her first photos! I must try the recipe 68

Recipe Requests / Re: Turmeric tea???« on: March 23, 2016, 08:07:36 pm »
Tumeric is an anti inflammatory. But I have had no luck with it working for me! The tea I found was an acquired taste but I would also be interested in a recipe.

We really like the Pumpkin soup in the EDC with the Asian variations of coriander, sweet chilli and coconut milk. Yum!

Thanks for the jar info JulieO.
I think I am just as addicted to buying jars as I am to buying cook books! So a "salads in jars" cookbook is a double whammy!!! 74

Those jars are excellent and would be great for keeping the salad very fresh. I love the food in jars. That is how I take my lunch to work. I must look at the book.
Great photos! 75

Yum these look great. Such a simple easy dessert! I think you could mix and match a bit. Maybe ginger snap biscuits for the base and homemade apricot jam would be yummy on top.
I love the serves in jars ideas. I agree though probably 6 x 150mls would be a less daunting size. Thanks for the recipe I will certainly be making this one! |
