Today's tipp from Germany realtes to Avocados - rough translation !!
Avocadoa are a great all-purpose fruit, for unusual desserts, as well as for tasty dips, cold soups and salads. But it is best to use raw - they tend to become bitter when they are cooked. It is only after the pear-shaped fruits are picked that they ripen & the flesh becomes butter soft.
But: Too-soft fruits often have pressure points, because everyone in the store has been poking them with their fingers. Under the shell, the flesh becomes discolored & then dark. It is therefore better to buy avocados while they are still green and hard. At home wrap in newspaper and store at room temperature to ripen. Placing them with bananas speeds their ripening. Do not place in the refrigerator where they can freeze. After they are cut, rub with lemon juice so that the flesh does not become discolored.
