Cakes / Dry Cake Mix Recipe?
« on: March 18, 2021, 02:56:57 am »
Hi all, I haven't been on here for ages, but I do come and look up recipes quite often.
I'm after a DIY Cake Mix that I'm sure I found here, though a search hasn't turned it up. These are often used when camping to replace bought packet cake mixes.

I have a picture of a bag of it with the ingredients needed to complete it - circa 2015!. The ingredients to add were: 2 eggs, 120g water and vanilla.
So, the butter was crumbled into flour, milk powder, baking powder, I'm just not sure of quantities.

Can anyone help? If not, I'll have a play around myself. Since it had butter in, it must have to be kept in the fridge. I've seen a lot where you add oil with the eggs and water, so that would probably be better.

These rolls are still my favourite! I flatten them in the oven by placing a tray over the top to make them hamburger rolls.

Sadly it’s something we can’t dodge.  ;D
But we won’t let it hold us back.

Absolutely not!!  ;D ;D

Thank you, thank you! I've not heard of her before. I'm now following her on FB and will be trying loads of her recipes. They look and sound scrumptious and I love her philosophy of simple, tasty food that anyone can cook.

I'd like to try that porridge, but I can't stand psyllium! When I did a keto diet for 6 months, I used to make buns that were mostly psyllium and I got to the stage that I was gagging in the end.

I'd probably have to add some oats instead.

Cookidoo Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani). I made the Tandoori Paste yesterday and it's delicious. For anyone trying to get hold of Kashmiri Curry Powder and Brown Cardamom Pods, Herbies have them. www.herbies.com.au

I’ll have to check out that HighHeat Onions Collection JulieO.
Interesting that you have only just come back here.
I find that although the Cookidoo FB group is okay, there isn’t anywhere to discuss TM6 hints and tips specifically. Maybe I should start up a FB group?

A very timely thread. Thank you JulieO.

I've just received my TM6, having used one for a few weeks, loaned to my by my consultant friend. I haven't had a lot of time to experiment with it, but hope to in future.
I'm planning on becoming a consultant again, now I live in a city instead of a tiny country town!

Hello all! Long time since I've been on here. I thought I'd see if you had a thread for the Cookidoo. I've just bought a TM6, handed my TM5 down to my DIL and was planning to hand her (my previous) TM31 to my other son when it got an error 52 which we think is the Motherboard, If so, not worth fixing. So timely!!

Really enjoying Cookidoo, but have had a few fails, so was hoping I'd find you all testing the recipes madly and commenting here.

Good to be back!  ;D

Seems like hair cuts all around! I went in to get my hair cut really short. It’s longer than I’ve ever worn it, though still short. The hairdresser talked me out of it! So glad she did. Quick trim and it looks great.

Glad it’s you towing a trailer Cookie, I hate having to tow things.

I have a wedding to conduct this afternoon on a farm and the weather is awful! Lovely yesterday for rehearsal, but now very windy, overcast and cool. Always the way. No doubt it’ll be lovely tomorrow!

Marina, I hate the gym, too. I go to yoga classes and have just started a seniors Zumba. I’m on a low carb, high fat way of eating and lost early 8 kg last year. Maintained that weight for a year.  Best WOE ever. Lots of yummy food. I still eat starchy vegetables, but don’t eat wheat pasta or wheat bread or pastry. There are so many options out there now!

Cookie, isn’t it nice when that sort of thing happens!

DJ, lovely to hear from you. Must let you know that my email has changed. megantuffley@gmail.com.

Would love to hear from you again.

Marina, your exercise class sounds like fun! I just started seniors Zumba today and loved it. I also do seniors yoga.
