« on: November 25, 2012, 02:41:27 am »
I made Quirky Jo's Quick Egg curry with quinoa last night and it was very quick, very easy and very tasty. Just wanted to share my thoughts.  ;)

Chit Chat / Cooking forums/sites?

Besides this fabulous forum, where to you go online for cooking inspiration?

Years ago I used to frequent Recipezaar.com until they changed to food.com. Then they had bazillions of pop-ups and other various problems so I stopped going there. I just popped in now to see if it's all been fixed but after the first page, I can't load the site. Grrr! I give up on that one.

I was hoping Taste.com.au might fill the gap for me but I don't find a lot of inspiration on that forum. Am I just not hangin' around long enough? Really, this is the only cooking forum I feel is worth visiting lately. I would like to find another one or two for 'different' ideas.  ;)

Chit Chat / Blender: TMX v Vitamix
« on: November 01, 2011, 12:03:38 am »
Recently I've been having smoothies. Actually 'roughies' in my Magimix blender. LOL.

I'm wondering if anyone has a Vitamix blender and can give me a comparison. I don't own either the TMX or the Vitamix. I plan on buying a TMX in coming months and am wondering if the blending will be as 'super' as the Vitamix or more like the Magimix which I already own. I don't think I could talk my hubby into the fact that I may *need* a Vitamix (at around AU$900) as well as a TMX.

I realise the TMX does a whole LOT more. I'm not debating if I need one over the other. Just if I need to consider a Vitamix down the track as well. Heaven forbid.  :-))

Introduce Yourself / Help me buy a TMX

If first heard about thermomix on a forum somewhere about 18 months ago. I think I decided that I needed one right about then. About 6 months ago, my mum hosted a demo for a friend of hers so of course I went along. Oh my! I knew this was going to be great even before I went, but after seeing it, I just knew I really *needed* one of these little beauties. The lady that did the demo did a poor job of demonstrating it in my opinion and only ever did the one demonstration before leaving the company however, I was still sold.

I have a problem in that I am in no earthly way able to afford to buy myself a Thermomix.  :'( However I can't help obsessing about it. Ha! I bet most of you here understand that. I'm wondering if you are able to share some of the financial benefits of becoming a consultant. I work part time but heaven knows we could do with some extra cash. I already know that I love the TMX. I'm also accutely aware that these are tough times we live in and I would not be the 'Lone Ranger' in wanting one of these machines but not being able to afford one.

Does signing up as a consultant help with the cost of purchasing a machine? Are there any benefits financially? If I had the money, I would not be asking these questions. I would just buy one, sign up and share the love but it's a heck of a lot more difficult and complicated than that in reality for me.

Hope to hear some input from those that may have been in a similar position and found a solution.

Cheers, Dot (in rural Victoria)
