We had this (http://journalofafrenchfoodie.com/2012/08/) for lunch today and it was really nice.(Verrine Tapioca) I made some of MJ's rasberry jelly and put it on the top as well and a splot of cream. Very easy, can be made the day before and is well worth it.

Denzelmum -Nice and easy, mango puree would be nice too. Unfortunately I'm the only one who it tapioca in the house, better share this with friends.
KarenH - so very easy and yummy! I had some of Tenina's Berry Lime Coulis in the freezer, and used this for the sauce on the top. Absolutely sensational! Thanks cookie for drawing this one to my attention. I love tapioca!

I am used to Tapioca being less jelly like but it does 'expand' with the liquid and when it sits around a while. Which recipe did you use, looks yummy!

Set time for 20mins
Add to bowl

Me too.

please excuse my ignorance!!! I have some sago in the pantry is that the same or similar to tapioca?????
-
This will explain it better than I could GHM.
Just for the record; sago and tapoca are not the same thing. Sago is made from the starchy core of a certain type of palm tree, and tapioca is made from the roots of the cassava/manioc plant. These roots must be treated to remove the hydro-cyanic acid which they contain. Indigenously, this is done by pounding the roots, commercially a similar technique is used but on a larger scale. However, as both sago and tapioca are basically no more than refined starch, the outcome of both dishes when cooked is very similar.
I've seen them pounding the roots in some country we visited on a cruise many years ago - it made me wonder who came up with the idea in the first place :P

Thanks Cookie for the link and trying out the recipe! It is indeed delicious for those who like tapioca :)
Denzelmum, thanks for posting your picture! I'm learning something new everyday, had never heard of sago before!

Mmmm. I think it may be time to make this again.

Made this tonight as per the ingredients and instructions. Just forgot the lemon rind. Might try blitzing the lemon rind first next time, or do you think it might go a bitter during the cooking process? Heard the "yummy, yummy, mummy" response so I guess that's a thumbs up from everyone.
-
I tend to use a zoster for lemon rind most times.

The link for this recipe is no longer available. I'd love to make it again. I don't suppose anyone copied the recipe please?

Hopefully someone who has made it has a copy cookie, what a pity her website is closed down.
-
It is. I had made a couple of things from her website.
