Hi Rudi, nice to meet you.  Two of us are from the Philadelphia area, one from NYC.  That's it!

I have some recipes I've played with HERE.

You've stumbled on a pretty great group here, very cooperative, helpful, and informative.  Hope you can stick around a bit.

Yeah, I saw that :)  I told my wife last night that we'll soon be able to schedule a "TMG"  or ThermoMix Gathering.  We could set tables up in the yard and run extension cords to each of them....  She proceeded to throw me out of the bed <BG>

Just watch out....  we're only planting seeds now.  Some day we shall conquer.

Hi AuntAnnie, nice to meet you :)

What part of the States are you from?  I'm a few miles North West of Philadelphia.

Similar but mine has sultanas from memory ( I hope !!)

Actually, mine has some diced candied citron in it.  Just a touch.  One of those ingredients I put in without thinking and forgot to write it down.  I've seen them with other candied fruits, but not raisins...

Was invited to a picnic, so I made two ricotta cheese cakes.  That's one of my absolute favorites.  Not as rich as NY style, but more flavor IMHO.  Usually  I just use a bowl and whisk, but this time I did use the TM.  My standard recipe is HERE .  I didn't change the recipe at all, just used the butterfly to whip things together.  Sorry for the glare in the picture, but you get the idea :)

In all honesty, my wife :)

I don't drink... ok to excess.  Maybe a beer a week.  I don't smoke.  I work all the time, except that cooking is my hobby.  I was "aware" of them and then saw one on a visit to Montreal.  When my wife saw a kitchen toy that I didn't have, she insisted we buy one.  Did I mention that I have a great wife (except for her rules on rice pudding and tapioca pudding)?

It is one of the few tools in my kitchen that she will use, and actually enjoys using.  If I told her to go to the stove and make a cream sauce, she'd just stare at me.  However, last week, I told her to make a cream sauce in the TM when I was late getting home, and she made a great one :)

Edit: Wait a second! That's not a baguette!!!

Ok.... so it's a boule.  I just thought it was a great picture that I added after the recipe was already up.  I use the same formula for the dough..... baguette or boule   :-[

The restaurant was traditional French owned by James McGuire (who taught the class).  I found an old review HERE

HC, I've worked on several recipes, but non in quite a bit as I've been distracted.  You can find a list of recipes I've concocted, with links, HERE

I purchased three of the books at from http://www.UKThermomix.com. My contact there was Janie.Turner@UKThermomix.com   I believe I paid about 73 British Pounds back in December, including postage to the States.

Thermomixer, the " y'all " is heard mostly in the South...  Once in a while up North but not too frequently ;)

You mean you don't go to Premier Moison?  :)

If you're a bread baker, try my baguette recipe.  You can find step by step instructions HERE .  Do you remember Passe Partout ?  I took a class with the former owner/chef/baker who showed us the method I use in that recipe.

Finally.... FINALLY someone else from the States :)   I live in PA, a little northwest of Philadelphia.  You'll be really happy you found this forum.  Lots of great folks and great ideas.  If you have any problems, just ask.  Someone here will have the answer.

Nice to meet 'cha !
