Chit Chat / Re: What are you cooking today?

I have made vege stock today and just made Quirky Jo's Huevos Racheros beans. We will have half for dinner with eggs cooked in it of course and I will freeze other half. Always tasty on an easy Sunday night.

My football tipping is terrible this week. I think next week I will see what the so called expert tipsters say, then pick the opposite to them. I figure I can't go wrong then. Crazy game this season so far.
Cookie, The last 5 minutes of that game were the longest 5 mins, so convinced Port would overrun them at the end.

Cookie, I agree, our weather has been exceptionally beautiful for the past month. And at least another week ahead. So nice to get outside that's for sure.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Judy, you will be able to relax and enjoy the footy this weekend with your team playing Brisbane. It's the derby in Perth and very hard to pick, DH has picked Eagles, I have gone for Fremantle.

I love drawers also. In our kitchen (which was renovated before we moved in) there is 4 banks of drawers plus cupboards. I even have my spice bottles laying down in a drawer right under the cooktop, so handy!
We got some liners from IKEA that have rubber ridges so the bottles don't roll around.

I'm sorry Robin, but somehow a new dishwasher doesn't seem as exciting  as Ral's new tractor.
A nice purchase Chookie! So many possibilities!

Cookie, so sorry for your DH having to deal with Shingles, especially in the face area. I know a few people who have had them and it is a very painful ghastly thing. Hopefully he won't suffer as much with the meds.

Happy for you Chookie now that settlement has gone through. A new chapter truly begins!

CC, good that Chance is still out there enjoying his daily walk with you and meeting friends.

Judy, your team are doing well! Up till this weekend the games have been somewhat unpredictable. DH and I are in a footy tipping comp here at our village and we have had trouble picking winners. This weekend seems to be easier. It is funny, the top 6 on the tipping ladder are all women.

I hope everyone has had a lovely Easter Sunday. We spent most of the morning with the GK's and part of the afternoon. Always much fun and laughter.
We will be in Tassie for 11 days and have never been before, everyone we know who has been have had positive experiences. It will be cold, but if prepared that will be ok.

I haven't been on lately, seems as though I am always busy. DH and I are planning a self drive trip to Tasmania at the moment. We are going mid May.
I hope everyone has a happy and safe Easter .

Interesting Cookie, it's rare to see things from Russia in the shops here.

Good morning everyone, lovely sunny day in Perth today.
Mab, glad the doctors have found a reason for your discomfort, and soon find a way to give some relief.
Judy, congrats on your Assis.secretary position, a good way to keep your mind active, not that you need it with all you do.
Glad your Dad is doing ok Robyn, don't they serve meals at his nursing home?
Chookie, when we moved I went through all books and found lots of recipes I had overlooked in the past. If there was more than a few I kept the book, otherwise just scanned and copied the one or two from books to get rid of. I won't lie it was time consuming! Lol

Chookie, So happy for you and Ral, a load off your mind I'm sure, well it will be in the coming weeks.
Nice that it has sold before Winter sets in.

Mab, how frustrating for you. I hope they find the cause soon. it's not good to have your sleep disrupted.
So hot and muggy in Perth. 37 yesterday with a massive electrical storm last night. Both myself and DH had little sleep, it seemed like every time we dozed off a massive thunder clap would wake us again.
So humid today and 36.
Have a great day everyone.

Last night we had Salmon with Cleansing Spring sàlad (RC), a few cherry tomatoes and some cucumber on the side. Simple but tasty.
Cookie did you make your Soba noodles? The ones at the supermarket are actually not 100% buckwheat flour, only 29%. Has anyone purchased 100% buckwheat flour noodles anywhere?
