Bread / Re: Bagels - sooooo easy & delicious!
« on: April 29, 2012, 12:40:34 pm »
Delicious, its the lovely chew to them, but still light. I'm a nice Jewish girl from London, hahaha and my father used to take me down Petticoat Lane on Sunday mornings to buy and stuff my face with bagels. Dad, you would be soooooo proud of me! They really are lush! ;)

Tenina, I think this is absolutely disgusting! I honestly CANNOT believe it! Gobsmacked, speechless. However my conclusion is whoever runs the HO in Australia is at fault, and maybe their behaviour should be reported to Europe. Thermomix started in Europe, and is much much bigger in Europe, so maybe Europe should be aware of this bullying and manipulation. That's my opinion anyway! As for other robots matching Thx, in Europe for years there have been many launched but none can match nor compete! Best of luck, but I think its outrageous and should be reported!

I agree Frozzie! I have my FB account for 4 years now, a great way to keep in touch with my family , longlost school mates and colleagues best friends, but only family and friends!  Have never ever had problem and I love it! As it helps me keep in touch but without being time consuming. But I am strict to who I add.

Hi everyone! Nice to see you all about and enjoying your Thermomixes as much as me still!
Just thought I'd pop in and say hello and tell you after celebrating my husbands birthday (50th) :o surprise weekend away in Ibiza, I have attempted making two typical desserts, Flaó which is a baked mint and aniseed cheesecake, and ensaimada. Both an absolute success! Of course, who would expect anything else from our fantastic THX!!!!
A million kisses to all, will try and load the photos for you!

The majority of my friends in Uk just open up packets of everything and pop in microwave or oven, they would never dream of really cooking anything. They all feel that as they eat vegetables and fruit, their diet is healthy! I think its just generally a culture thing. I hardly knew how to cook until my husbands family taught me! :D

I didn't think they were that big in the UK (as none of my school friends in London have ever even heard or seen one!) But here in Spain they are very big I would say if a teacher in a classroom asked " whose mother doesnt have a Thermomix, maybe only 3 or 4 kids would put up their hands! ;D ;D ;D

Shanmack, I have a huge family saving every week. I no longer buy any processed foods, no frozen foods, no packets or pots or jars of anything at all. Once you get the hang of it you will have no waste either. You can freeze your fruit that has overripened to make desserts/juices/ice-creams. Your vegetable box will be made into homemade sauces/soups and your freezer will be full of exciting and inviting dishes, that your family will love you for it. I can't live without mine and even take Tmx camping with me! I honestly couldnt live without mine, and I was only just discussing with my DH last week, that should anything ever happen to my dear TMX  :o :o :o I would immediately go straight out and buy another one! And DH actually agreed! Remembering the fact that 3 years ago, it took me a month of pleading DH every day to let me have one! :o :o :o :o :o I actually have 2 jugs and can assure you that they are both in use constantly. And my children (and their friends!) also appreciate me having one!
Apart from being healthier for you and your loved ones, whilst TMX is making dinner/lunch you can be doing something else. For example, you have ten minutes to bath the kids, 7 minutes to hang out the washing etc etc with the guarantee that nothing will ever get overcooked or burnt.
I cook for a family of 5, but with another 6 or 7 of my kids friends too who also love inviting themselves for afternoon waffles/ice-creams/pizzas etc and I can honestly say that my weekly saving is 40 euros a week (Living in the South of Spain)
If you have any other doubts just let us know, if you finally decide....you certainly will NOT regret!

Recipe Book Recipe Reviews / Re: thin and crispy pizza dough
« on: September 05, 2011, 04:05:59 pm »
I just use my fingers! Normally 400g of flour will make 2 big bases for me as we also like them thin and crispy, so just use a smaller amount of dough, and I take my time, pressing and pushing with my finger tips to spread the dough out and cover the base of the pizza tin. It takes about 4 or 5 mins but its worth it! If the kids are around I get them to do it! ;)
