I made an appointment with the optitian today, just a couple of months overdue.

LOL Margaret. I'm due for my 6 monthly diabetes check up. It was due in December but I couldn't be bothered as everything is going well.
DH was out and about again this morning doing his executor duties! He is a little fed up. We have his brother's caravan here trying to sell it, and to be honest it is a heap of junk. Sadly no one had cleaned it in or out for about 10 years. It was full of goodness knows what, which DH has been instructed to get rid of!!!!!! That isn't an executor duty of course but he is doing it for his brother's sake. Our outside looks like a bomb has hit it.

Your DH is very kind cookie, it is beyond the call of duty but it’s nice to help out if you can.  It sounds as if you might need extra rubbish bins for the job though.

Your DH is doing a sterling job Cookie. The caravan clear out/clean sounds a horrible job. Fingers crossed  you will find a buyer for the caravan.

I went grocery shopping with DS.

What a horrid job for DH Cookie. Nice that he has gone above and beyond for family. Once it is cleaned up, it might appeal to someone wanting to do up a retro van.

We set up camp yesterday afternoon and then went to Castle Hill shopping centre. Didn't buy anything but nice to have DJ's and Myer under the one roof. Today we are off to The Australian Museum and a look around the city.

. Same here. Going on Monday.
Preparing bottles for jam. Cleaning out file in office. Ice into Chooks water.  Mostly inside jobs as it will be hot.

Certainly a day for indoor jobs Chookie.

It wasn't so bad in Sydney in the city today. Went to the museum (spent 3.5hrs there and that was a bit rushed). Then walked to Paddy's Market, Darling Harbour and Queen Victoria Building.
I have to stop longing to live everywhere I go on holidays. I wanted to live in a high rise apartment on the Gold Coast last week and now I'm wondering why I ever left Sydney  :-))
With all the walking we did today, was a little disappointed that I've only clocked up 15976 steps.

Glad everyone coped with the horrible heat yesterday.
I am all ready to make jam today.  I will make 6 jar lots of plum and raspberry, plum and mixed berry, peach and pineapple and peach and ginger.
Still lots of both plums and peaches on trees.

Mich I always think of shifting to lots of places we holiday. Then DH loves to ground me with the statement that it wouldn't be a holiday if you lived here.

Lovely, exciting news. We sold BIL's caravan yesterday. The couple wanted an old, beat up caravan to take prospecting and this fitted the bill perfectly. The price was greatly reduced, but everyone is happy.

We hope to go for a little break early February. DH needs to have a bit of a breather. With MIL not being 100% we think we need to stay within 12-15 hours drive of the city. So no FNQ for us this year or the Model A rally in Murray Bridge. While his brother was alive he could have helped MIL if she had needed it as she doesn't read or write English at all, but now DD will fill in the gaps until we get home. Poor old dear she is just existing, but isn't unwell. There are lots of lovely places in WA that we can still chill out in.

Glad you sold the van Cookie - one less thing you have on the to do list.

Very hot today - and we went to the western Sydney suburbs. Started off at the old drive-in movies markets - it was only 35 degrees early this morning. DH loves all you can eat  :o, so the Blacktown Workers for lunch and then to the movies to see Jumanji. A cool change has come through now and it is lovely.
Hope you all have managed to stay out of the heat today.

Super news cookie, a load off DH’s mind.  Good to hear you are planning some me time in the coming weeks.
