What have you been doing today?

BZB I cannot tell you what a joy it is for me to see your boys playing lovely classical pieces and doing it well. It is such a shame more children are not exposed to this type of music.

Gert

Thank you, Gert, for your kind words. It is indeed a shame that so many kids don't have the opportunities to play these classics. I felt like I was transported back in time when I sat in the concert hall listening to the beautiful and amazing music some of the kids performed. Jaw-dropping stuff!

Thank you too to MF, Judy, Cookie and INAID for your encouragement 😃

Middle child's turn to perform at Fremantle Eisteddfod today. Two pieces but I had time to only upload one. Will do the other one later.

He  played one of his Grade 8 repertoire pieces this morning. He performed this Poulenc novelette with panache, precision and colours. A well deserved First Prize in the Piano 20th Century Under-13, Fremantle Eisteddfod, I think. 😄😜

Your boys have an extraordinary and uncommon talent, BZB! And talent aside, I can only imagine the number of practice hours that go into producing performances like these!!  Unmatched determination!! :)

Magnificent BZB. Do you play piano BZB? All 3 of your sons have amazing talent. Love to see children playing musical instruments.

It's a pain in more ways than one then astarra.  Did the doctor give you something for the pain?

GF, thanks. Yes, there is no shortcut to being good at anything. That's my constant mantra to my kids. In their instant gratification generation, this is even tougher to teach. The daily grind is very challenging, but I hope it instil lifelong lessons for them. Besides the love for beautiful music, of course 😄

Mich, I don't play any instrument. Came from a poor family with single mum. We are fortunate that we can do this for our kids, but it does mean less nice stuff in other areas of our lives. Having said that, their music education is a worthwhile investment. We don't expect them to become musicians though. 😃

Thank you Mab, Kimmy, Denise, katj, Nikkit and Astarra. Hope your wrist recovers very soon xx

BZB my Dad always said we do the very best for our kids and I think it is so true. Your boys play beautifully but I can imagine the amount of practise time they put in. It is indeed a family affair. Congratulations to all of you.

Astarra I am pleased you have potent pain killers. Do take care.  :-*

Gayle I hope your fresh approach works. I have made a couple of your SC loaves recently. I think I am addicted to them.  :D the flavour is lovely.

Aside from working on the computer, I'm off to the hairdressers in a couple of hours to get rid of the greys. Sometimes when my greys grow out too quickly I just want to get a pair of scissors and cut off the coloured hair so I can just be all grey and that will be that. I don't have the courage tho  :-)) and my kids especially would be horrified  :D my DH might possibly think something was different
