Lovely to hear from you Chookie. Thanks for the news about Ral, you are both in our thoughts.
I’m a bit like Judy re the hospital bed. Would you be able to sell it easily when Ral is feeling better?
Take care of yourself as well as Ral.

Great to hear from you Chookie . Good Ral is making progress in the right direction. Not sure if you can change Cookidoo internet you might loose your info not sure but heaps must do it in fact the consultants would have the answer as they take theirs to different homes . There would be a answer from them . Bed well that’s a hard one except if my maths is right ( possibly not ) that’s 56 weeks of hiring . Someone else correct me please .

Thanks again Judy and all for support. GP said buy bed, so we did.
Some very good news.. After more tests and 2 lots of Chemo, Ral’s cancer is shrinking. Dr delighted as are we. But with a warning. This may not continue. We take it day by day.

I have been following your updates Bess and not knowing what to say, especially after your last post which was discouraging, yet still hoping to hear this fantastic news. Taking it day by day is the way to go and I know there are so many friends taking those daily steps with you.  Love, hugs and kisses to you both

There’s more than one way to get a posting on the forum when you’re sitting the grand-dogs and they don’t like you using the iPad when they want to be on your lap. I have 2 so I just grabbed the other one.

I wanted to come on here to thank Chookie for the update and hope that it continues.

Oh what a cute dog. Chookie I’m another one who sends loving thoughts to you and Ral every day. One day at a time is all we can do. Let’s hope the good news keeps coming.
What a lovely doctor to help you with the bed decision.
Sending hugs.

There's nothing like a helpful grand-dog to help you with your postings to the forum, Judy

Cute and loving Margaret but I was happy to send them both off back home with my DD and GD last night, finally I can get my house back in order and do some things for myself.  Jessie absolutely loves her Dad and she raced around trying to find him, she cried when she couldn’t.

She is a little sweetie cookie, Elliot can be a naughty boy but I don’t let him get away with anything. He runs away when it’s time for a brushing but knows it’s inevitable in the end, he demands to go to bed when it suits him not me. I let them sleep on the end of my bed but they won’t go unless I go to bed too, 9.15ish is too early for me!

Judy, you have brightened my day with that photo of that dog on your keyboard.
Update on Ral.  Chemo is really awful. There is a definite pattern to the treatment. This lasts a week. It is a 3 week cycle. First the infusion which takes 5 hours sitting in a chair at the hospital.  Then home with pills for 3 days and then injection in stomach on 4 th day. We are lucky as our neighbour is a nurse and gives Ral the injection. He has just had his 3 rd round ( out of 8 ) He is continuing to lose weight. Ral uses a 4 wheel walker for long distances but is now able to walk around home without it. Yesterday was probably his worst day so far. He spent most of the day in front of the TV. We don’t have any visitors as we need to avoid any infections. I cook whatever Ral feels like. Some not very healthy. Yesterday, a bacon sandwich. But he did have a lamb shank with quinoa for dinner. Dr said lots of protein.
I’m continuing to pack up the house for sale. DD helps and the odd job man and his son are treasures. Our gardener is also wonderful. I call him my project manager. He has taken over necessary tidying up of the garden.
Thanks to all for your words of support. It really does help.
