I did this recipe today vivacity to use up the last of the Christmas ham.  Bit more than 2 serves in this household though, more like 6 serves.  I didn't have any parsley and my spinach needed picking so I added 10 leaves in step 5 along with another 200g water and cooked it another 4 minutes. I served it with some poached eggs and DH licked his plate  ??? ???  It has a risotto look and taste to it and he hates risotto  :-)) :-)) :-)) Thanks for the posting. I've been saving this one for this time of the year.

Thanks Cathy.  I was going through recipes last night looking for some things to do over the next few days when it is going to be 43o here in Adelaide and I pulled this one out - I'll cook it outside in the weber. Probably won't even have to turn the weber on  :D :D

Hi KarenO, welcome to the forum.  Ask all the questions you want to, that's what we are here for.  It can be a bit daunting when you start out with the TMX but in no time at all you will wonder how you lived without it.  Love to see some of your converted recipes when you get around to it.  In the meantime, enjoy your new toy.

Yes set is to do with the consistency isi.  Mine wobbled a bit like jelly, it wasn't firm like custard for example.  It really doesn't need to be 'set' a lot more, just a little so a bit more cornflour should do the trick.

Thanks for your photo JulieO - mine is the same colour as yours which is a tad lighter than isi's.  Mine also didn't 'set' as much as I thought it would but I agree with you, it was nice and light - a great finish to a meal.  Maybe a bit more cornflour next time would make it a little firmer? I will definitely be making this again. Thanks isi.

I'm so glad you bumped this one Barbara as I am having the grandies on Tuesday and I am going to make it for the little fellow to make a mess with.  I always do cooking, craft work or colouring in with the 5 yr old but the toddler is left to amuse himself and give me lots of cuddles. I'm sure he will love to sit at the 'work table' with us girls and do something different for a change. Miss 5 is going to think her Grandma is sooo clever.  I impressed her last time by making some glue out of flour and water for her project and she couldn't wait to tell her Mum about it.

Apparently so was I Chookie  :D :D :D  I think I was just bored as a child and should have been born 60 years later as kids today seem to have so much more fun than I did and their parents actually do things with them.  Gone is the 'you are to be seen and not heard' mentality which existed in my day.

My Granny was a good home baker and i can remember watching her make tarts,   if I was good I was allowed to sweep the floor when she had finished.

What did they let you do if you were naughty Chookie  ??? ??? ???

Today I have made Chicken Skewers and satay sauce for lunch, apricot jam, stewed apricots, a double batch of raspberry/blueberry cordial and isi's Light Coffee Cream dessert. Will post a review of the dessert when it has set.

Like you Thermomixer, I also read it as fish sauce.
I made these for our lunch today, rushed in from shopping quite late so needed to get a move on with it. Used chicken tenderloins, snow peas and pineapple on the skewers. Only cooked them for 10 minutes because it is such a tender cut of meat and that was perfect.  Only had time to make the quick & easy Kraft satay sauce and it was just that and very tasty indeed. Heated some leftover rice in the steaming basket whilst the skewers cooked.  I only made 5 skewers - 3 for DH and 2 for me but I think I could have eaten another 2 myself (it was 2pm by this time though so I was pretty hungry).
For the quick satay sauce I used carnation evaporated milk with a few drops of coconut essence it it and only 1 tspn curry powder.  I loved it.

I can now add this one to my list of done recipes too.  I can't believe how much jam/marmalade I have made lately - just because I can more than the fact that I need it  :-)) :-))
