I can understand how daunting it is for you Cookie1.  I had a friend set me up when I bought my laptop home 20 months ago and if this one carks it, I will be out there quick smart buying a brand new one and be in the same predicament you are.  Hope DD gets home in time or maybe she can do it whilst you are out at book club.  Don't know what that button is but stay right away from it or you might lose us all.  Then, how would you sleep at night  ;D ;D ;D :-* :-* :-* :-*

Of course there is the pizza dough in the EDC with your kid's favourite toppings - what kid doesn't like pizza.
ILB's Honey Soy stir-fry chicken winglets are popular, Chookies Chow Mein is loved by any child I know and Bron's steamed meatballs in tomato sauce seems a popular one too - these 3 are in mains on the forum.

I love the look and sound of this one too JulieO and was pleased that something could be done in the TMX to produce such a result.  Have printed out the recipe.  I will also leave out the leeks and substitute with other vegies, 3 leeks would be too strong a flavour for me plus they can be quite expensive.  Like the idea of baking the pastry on it's own too.

I think I've got it isi.  Split the dough in half. Flatten each piece out and roll up from the long side to form baguettes. Then twist it 3 or 4 times (like you say, as a screw).  Your explanation second time around was certainly clearer than the first but you are doing well and it is fun interpreting your words.  How long does it take you to read our threads?  I admire your tenacity and frequency on this forum when it is so difficult for you and our Aussie sayings must really confuse you sometimes.  :-* :-*

Thanks Julie & Chookie, yes have tried both suggestions.  The drawer, unfortunately, is the top one and when we took the second drawer out, could not get my hand up behind it.  I shake it everytime I walk past it Chookie - more in frustration than hope >:( >:(  No, my steak knives are in the smaller, everyday cutlery drawer so yes, rolls it must be. When I think about what else is in the stubborn drawer, it occurred to me that I very rarely use my wooden spoons these days because our clever TMX stirs itself. I have the guys here today doing the renovation of the side area of the house so I might even ask one of them to have a look at it later. My raised garden bed was delivered yesterday and can't wait to get that set up in this new area and do some planting.  Laying awake from 4am worrying about the drawer.

Hi LoyLoy, lucky you.  You will have to make things and take them over to your parents now to show them how wrapped you are in your TMX. If they bought themselves one then you will be able to compare recipes and talk TMX everytime you visit them.  I probably bore my poor old Mum to death with my talk but she appreciates the food parcels.

  Precisely Thermomixer - the world just gets too much for us and it is therefore not hard to leave when we get old (much older than we are at the moment though I hope ;) ;))

Hi qecho, welcome to the forum.  You will make lots of friends here and find lots of delicious recipes too.  They are coming in so fast these days I can't keep up with them and my 'to do' folder is growing by the day.  It is all part of the fun though.

I thought of using gelatine isi.  I don't think the caramel made any difference as it is 2 separate layers.  I had one of the blocks of 'ice-cream' for dessert tonight, just put one of the blocks into the microwave for 20 seconds to soften it (it was rock hard). It was nice but not as ice-creamy as the chocolate version I did with your light coffee cream dessert.  I will certainly make it as is to serve to visitors in a stemmed glass with the caramel on top - I am a fan of any dessert in a glass.  They always look nice.

Just reading about everyone making their bread makes me want to do some more but my cutlery drawer which has all the bigger items in it (like the bread knives) is stuck fast with something caught so unless I can borrow a bread knife from Mum, there is no point making bread at the moment.  We have tried everything to get it opened and I have called the company who installed it 7 years ago to see if they could offer any advice.  They can't get out just yet to have a look but if we haven't succeeded in opening it by next Monday, they will come out.  If and when I get this drawer open, I think I might have to cull a few items so this doesn't happen again.  I think they are going to have to dismantle part of the kitchen to get to it.

This is the tortilla recipe from Trudy Olive which JulieO used for her enchilada recipe.
320g plain flour
1 teaspn salt
3 tblspns olive oil
1tspn baking powder
180g warm water
Put everything in the TM bowl.  Mix 10 seconds on speed 7 to combine.  Set to locked position and knead 3 minutes. Put dough onto breadmat and rest 5-10 mins.  Divide dough into 12 pieces and roll into flat rounds.  Fry in an oiled, hot frying pan until they start to brown. Turn them over and cook the other side.
