What are you cooking today?
« Reply #37110 on: March 11, 2023, 10:49:56 am »
Thanks everyone.
Today I made a loaf of bread. It’s a recipe from Bec’s table. . https://becs-table.com.au/soft-white-bread/
I added some seeds. She suggested putting the seeds into the bowl first, then water, yeast etc. I think I needed to put it into a larger tin.

Cookie, I can’t understand someone throwing out that cake. There certainly is a problem there. Love the look of that bread.
Mab, happy Birthday to your GD.
I was given a shopping bag of lemons. After sharing some with neighbours, I made Lemon and carrots marmalade and mandarin, lemon and carrot marmalade. All in the TMX.
Also sausage rolls for GS.

You’re right Judy. I even weighed the dough and it was still lopsided.

I made a Classic loaf today and some biscuits. They are called Molasses Swirled Sugar Cookies. They were from a Bake From Scratch magazine that I have borrowed from the library as an e magazine. You make the sugar cookie mix and the molasses mix and then fold them in a weird way. I got DD to interpret the folding bits. They were fun though and makes heaps.

What fun Cookie.
Like Marina, I have been eating nibbles rather than proper meals. Yesterday a friend came with cheese scones from Bakers delight. I called this lunch. So decided to cook myself a proper dinner. Made Norwegian fish cake and salad.

That looks delicious Chookie. It must be hard cooking for one. Some protein and salad is always a quick and healthy meal.

I should have done some housework today but couldn’t be bothered. Instead I made this Estonian Kringle from Cookidoo. It was very easy. I haven’t tried it yet.

The Kringle is a little dry. The flavour is nice so next time I make it I will add more milk.

DH came home with 10kg of tomatoes. I’ve turned almost  all of them into passata. I also made some ciabatta using a recipe from Tenina. Tapatalk isn’t working for me at the moment so no photo.

I bought some tomatoes today to make some chutney, they were $3.99 a kilo/.  Our tomatoes have been very poor this year so had to buy some.   I'll cook them up tomorrow.

I made a cake recipe from Bake from Scratch. It’s basically a marble cake but has vanilla, chocolate and caramel. For the caramel you warm some dulche de l??? In the microwave and stir it into a third of the cake. It’s different but nice.

Tapatalk won’t let me post photos at the moment so I will try again tomorrow.
