Well done Judydawn. I have made lots of 'drinking yoghurt'. If you don't try you don't discover. You could always add gelatine and have custard jelly.

Thanks for the replies re cookbooks.
Baf65, I'm going to the April 2nd cooking class at Bentley so will look then. Daughter is coming with me. Otherwise will contact you if I need help. I haven't heard from my "consultant" since one call after I got my machine. I don't expect them to keep in touch with me but it would have been nice to know when new books are available and how to get them. But then...............................we can't all be wonderful........................I guess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 36663

Recipe Requests / Re: Egg Whites« on: March 10, 2009, 05:39:28 am »
Friands use only egg whites. I haven't made any using the Thermomix, but you could possibly adapt a friand recipe. They're verry nice to eat.

I made this while we were 'off line' and loved the texture of the apricots as they were, I did blitz them after 15 minutes.
BUT, I don't know what I did but I needed to add more flour. I felt the mix was too runny to support the apricot mixture. Should it be this runny and does it hold the apricots up or do they sink to the bottom please? We really enjoyed it though. If it should be really thin will give it another try as is. Thanks-lovely taste. 36667

Cathy, your comment re the custard was interesting. I've made it heaps of times and could never taste the flour. Then the other night it seemed to taste of nothing except the flour. Will take your advice and use cornflour instead. I MAY even try it without .

It would have to be realloy good for that price. I think I like Mr Pampas even more.

This looks easy and lovely. We're off for a break in May so I may make some and freeze them to take. In fact I might try it out this week first. Thanks.

Condiments and Sauces / Re: PIZZA SAUCE« on: March 06, 2009, 06:15:20 am »
Thanks Trudy. Since Daughter won a pizza maker a couple of years ago Saturday night is pizza night. So tomorrow night I will try your recipe. We will then have everything home made. The pizza bases in the book are lovely.

Indeed. I haven't actually tried the Careme pastry yet as I said it's a bit of a trek to buy it. Interesting to hear that Pampas was similar for this recipe. Possibly Careme for when the pastry is a feature.

Chit Chat / Re: What are you cooking today?« on: March 06, 2009, 06:04:35 am »
I've only been making incidental things. Pasta with pumpkin cooked with it for the last 3 minutes for last nights main meal, rice for curry the other day (had the remains of the Naan bread from the freezer), milkshakes for daughter who was off work with a strp throat, and a custard to go with our rhubarb and apple.

All done. I first learned about the Thermomix from someone whose hubby was a coeliac (?spelling)

You'll be able to translate all the Bimby sites for us Thermomixer.
Thank you Master Moderator, it will be a nice big improvement. It makes me wonder how people can waste their time like that. 36675
Bread / Re: pullapart type loaf« on: March 03, 2009, 02:30:14 am »
I've made a half quantity of the pulll apart in the Christmas book and that was very successful. It was just perfect for the 3 of us. I made it in an 8 inch tin (20cm) and we still 'pigged out' on it. I've frozen it too, and I just put it in a plastic bag and give it a very quick zap in the microwave and it is as fresh as when first made.
