I have had a thermomix for a few months and have never been able to get rid of the smell of onions garlic herbs and oil form the plastic seals and lid. It is very off-putting and quite a strong stale smell. The very first thing I made with the help of my demonstrator was make basic stock then Minestrone soup. The smell of this has never left. Sautéing  Onions, garlic herbs makes it worse. I have soaked the parts in vinegar but this did nothing. It is not a nice smell and is uninviting to use it for sweets. I feel like I can taste this smell in everything I do in the Thermomix.
Does anyone have a simple answer?
