This recipe is from the onegoodthingbyjillee blog (http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/2012/08/homemade-nesquik.html) and would be great for Christmas hampers.
Into the thermomix bowl place 2/3 cup fine castor sugar (80g), 1/3 cup cocoa (20g) and a pinch of salt.
Blitz on speed 6 for 15 seconds.
Place in a jar and use 1.5 - 2 tblspns per glass. Dissolve the powder in 2 tblspns hot water then top up the glass with cold milk. It would probably be easier to mix it in a shaker before pouring into a glass for serving.
You can double the recipe if the kids go through it too quickly but for hampers this size is ideal.

JD what do u mean by fine castor sugar, i dont think i have ever seen it at the shops.thanks
-
Looks good with school hols coning. Thanks Judy.
-
Uni, in the UK they sell granulated & castor sugar. Castor sugar is just a finely ground sugar, similar to milling raw sugar in the TM, not icing sugar.
-
It's the castor sugar made in the Thermomix Uni but I made sure it was done finer than usual so that it dissolves better.
-
Haven't had a glass of quick for years, but this would be popular with your GC's I bet :D
-
so it just normal castor sugar but finer
-
I've forgotten how bought castor sugar looks Uni but when I make my own, sometimes I do it for a second longer than the chart says.
-
same here cant remember what it looks like
will give it a go now
-
Its actually nice JD :-)) i u tried some?
-
I need some anklebiters to feed this to. :D
-
Yes I tried it Uni, I try everything I post just in case it's no good :-))
Fletcher day tomorrow so I'll test it on him - mind you he is reasonably fussy so maybe I'll test it on Grandpa when he gets home tomorrow.
-
Will try this soon on my ankle biters. Although they have had a lot of "sometimes food" lately so it might be awhile. Love that I have everything on hand in the pantry for it.
-
Oh this sounds alright. DS 6 loves his nesquick milk shakes :)
-
Must try this my kids loves quick
-
Any reviews from Fletcher (I love that name!!) or Grandpa yet JD?
My girls love Quick sprinkled on their ice cream or in milk. So many thanx for the recipe conversion :-*
-
Yikes, I completely forgot to give it to them :-))
-
lol
-
Thanks :) will def be trying this one :)
-
Has anyone worked out any other flavours than chocolate?
-
I wonder if you could blitz dried strawberries into a powder and add that to milk cowley.
Here's (http://www.thekitchn.com/old-school-delight-make-your-o-142449) a strawberry liquid recipe - if my powder idea worked, it would be a lot quicker and would last longer too.

i am posting the weights so i know where to find them next time
80g icing sugar
20g cocoa
-
Thanks Uni, I've added those weights to the recipe.
