That is good to hear Rogizola.
Our problem at present is that we have a friend here who needs three large meals a day....

That's OK, DJ, you can start this diet any time when you are ready - I think if you try a new diet or eating regime when you are stressed it is not so successful.  Although, I know if I am wanting to start something I want to start it NOW, so perhaps you could quietly start on your own and not tell anyone - they probably won't even notice, especially if you have lots of food on your plate (i.e. salad greens).  Relax, your friend won't be with you all the time then you can really get into it.

Yes, I bet you were surprised to come back on and find this thread still going strong.  I like your idea for fasting days, quick, easy, no fuss and no cooking  ;D

We were to have lunch with friends today,  but they rang to say both have  nasty colds.  Lunch off.  Good,  I quickly turned it into a 2 day.  Every cloud has a silver lining.
DJ ,  I feel for you as this can be very difficult.  When we have visitors,  I now put all food on the table and let everyone help them selves.  They are so busy that they don't notice if I have a plate full of veggies.  Bit more difficult if only one guest.

I've just started the 5:2 diet.  I've got to lose about 10 kgs by April for my daughter's wedding.  Finding it pretty good so far.  I've lost a few kgs and back at the gym.  Fingers crossed I shift this weight, I've already bought my outfit and as of yesterday I couldn't get it done up!  Damn festive holidays!

And not for wrinkles.....

Am still doing MFP and working hard. Lost a small amount despite the custard slice...
And back to under the recommended daily amount. This seems to be working at the mo.  ;D

Good luck Annette, you've got a great goal to,aim for.

Judy,  thanks for this link.  Some nice recipes here.  I am thinking I could adapt my Norwegian fish cake recipe to a 2 day.

Just watched a fascinating horizon programme.identical twin doctors aged 35 went on diets.
One high fat, low carb for a month
The other high carb, no fat for a month.

Very interesting. Neither are bad on their own, what is the problem is, is the mix, the 50/50 eg in cheesecake, ice cream and donuts. It switches our brains off to say no and wants us to have more.
Try and watch the programme if you can, it will be on BBC iplayer.
The twin on no sugar, high fat did more damage to his body. Both Drs were very surprised.

The specialist said that the problem nowadays is that things that used to be treats are everyday now. Go back to treating treats as treats and eat a moderate and balanced diet. With exercise.
Will repeat this in my sugar thread.

Marina,  try Fiona Maclean's creamy Tomato soup.  Your DH can have this as it has Almond milk,  very filling and tasty. 59 calories a serve.
