Today I loaded up the car with cans and bottles (and DH) then headed off to the recycling centre.  $75 to add to my grand-children's bank a/c's.  Called into a fish and chip shop on the way home, bought our lunch and continued on down to the beachfront to eat it.  We were going to have a BBQ but that will be tomorrow now.  Pruned and filled the green bin this afternoon so that's me done for the day.

Over the years it certainly has added up Michele.  We don't have many bottles etc ourselves but I bring copious quantities home from DD's and even our neighbour brings their supply over as well.  It's a big job squashing all the cans and flattening the pep bottles so that I can get maximum amount in the car but when my little GS is here fortnightly, he helps me - he's a great little worker.  One particular day he wanted to do them but it was well into the 30's that day so I wasn't keen at all.  We did our usual thing though and before long he asked me why I was going so fast - my answer, so we can get this job done and I can go back inside where it's cool  ;D  I've taken him to the recycling centre too so that he can see what the next step is in this recycling chain.

Suzanne, it's harder to load DH than the cans.

How lovely of you to do that for you grandkids Judy :D

My grandma on my dad's side opened up bank accounts for my brother and I when we were younger and regularly put money in them for us. But when mum left my dad, grandma shut down the bank accounts and kept the money. I've never understood why she did that, we were still her grandkids ???

She was a very strange lady :-\ She used to hang up on me if I rang to speak to my dad. I used to have to pretend to be someone else.

That's not nice...still if that's the sort of person she is, sometimes it's best to leave her to marinate in her misery
