DD, great to hear that you are moving on with your treatment.  If you enjoy looking at this lovely book this is a good sign.  But to be able to face up to making things is even better.  Best wishes.

I wanted to say I made the Brussel Sprout side dish recipe from FFS last night - I halved the recipe as there was only 2 of us and only had diced bacon on hand - but wow - I never knew Brussel Sprouts could taste soooo good !

I love a good side dish recipe so this one will be used again & again !!

5/5

Hi,
I have looked at this recipe but I don't know what verjuice or speck is. Anyone able to translate these into something English?

Verjuice, you could use wine or stock in place of.

Speck, you could use bacon or proscuitto in place of.

DD, I was just at the right place at the right time for your questions.  We've been out shopping today then just got back from visiting my Mum and I thought I'd pop on before starting to think about tea. Yes I get some sleep, probably not enough though.

Dot hope you are feeling better bit by bit. Soup can be a bit boring after a while but homemade is bursting with goodies so could do worse !    Hope you enjoy Tenina's book - so many wonderful recipes!

Just love, love, this book.

Bought one for myself and hubby (he loves to cook using the thermomix).

I bought one for my daughter-in-law (sending it to her tomorrow - NSW).

Now I am going to get one for my daughter (we are a thermomix family!  ;D)

I just love, love the way the book looks, the great pictures and the recipes.....yumbo! Thank you, Tenina and well done - it's a winner.

Curried chicken sandwich filling. I noticed it has not been reviewed as yet, so here goes...our verdict 5/5  - simple and delicious! I did not have curry powder so just used chicken stock as flavoring.

Tenina, I love love love your book but as a general comment would appreciate if you could add a statement of easily available substitutes for some of your ingredients in your next book! Some examples include dried cherries, criu bru etc. it would help people like me who may not want to buy a product for one dish in case it is stuck in the cupboard to be thrown out in months to come (eg dulse flakes) or just can't find the damn cherries (dried ones that is). It is a minor quibble but just feedback for your next book. Otherwise, the recipes are great!

I'd like to add something too Tenina.  With more than one photo on a page, it would be handy to know what is what eg the photos of the pastes, herbed butters and salts.  :-*

I have never seen dried cherries either but I suppose you could dry them yourself or substitute dried cranberrys or Craisins. There are substitutes for cri bru but of course Tenina IS cri bru in Australia. I use pure raw cacao powder from the health food store. If Tenina brings some crio bru to the weekend I may buy some .

I absolutely hate  the wanker recipe mags like Gourmet or Deliscious that have wanker ingredients and don't buy them any more. They try to make a simple recipe for the elite forgetting that not all ppl live in a place you can actually buy that stuff.   I love it when that say any good deli will stock it. What bloody deli in Cairns?  Deli did someone say deli?  As if ::
