Well deserved gift to you Dot. I am glad to hear you are over the worst of your treatment. Hope all is looking up from now on for you.
And hope you can change your diet a little to add some solids to your menu :)
I love soup too but only so much before I would be sick of it.

What a lovely gesture from Tenina & Pete
Just brought a big smile to my face ;D

I'm glad that you're over the last of the chemo Dot and are on the way to better health and a return of your appetite.  Plenty of lovely tasty dishes in Tenina's book to get the taste buds going.  Enjoy and take care  :)

Dot, I'm so happy for you.
Tenia's  book is terrific. My mum was looking through it this afternoon to choose some recipes for me to make for her birthday. She finished looking through it and basically said that she would be happy with anything I choose to make her. She thought that all the recipes looked delicious.

After reading the Facebook thread, all I can say is that Tenia is demonstrating that you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.

Dear Pete & Tenina,
There you see, I was so excited that I actually sent a blank post! What an incredibly kind thing it is for you to do. I have just had my final dose of Chemotherapy. My dulled appetite resulted in 4 months of soup. I have become the soup queen of England. Now I love soup but it becomes a bit monotonous though it did lose me several stones in weight. My thoughts are now returning to a plan for food and exercise. I still have lots of treatment to go through but I feel that I am over the worst bit. Your book could not be arriving at a better time. I shall take up the reviewing with pleasure.
It is a very appreciative Dot that says a big thank you.

DOT, I am even more delighted than ever that you will get the book, with the news you have shared. My MIL has just finished her third bout of chemo and is doing as well as can be expected and I am well aware of all that you must have been going through…I hope you LOVE the book and all the best for now and the future…

My thoughts are with you…
xx

DD it is so nice to 'hear' you again. I do hope things are on the up for you.

Pete and Tenina you are absolute angels. What a lovely, generous thing you have done. Words fail me, as we see the horrid side of life everyday on our TV screens. It is wonderful to know about these sorts of things and your kindness will travel widely. :-* :-*

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. Yes, I am overwhelmed at Tenina and Pete's generosity. I am looking forward with tremendous excitement to getting to grips with some "proper" recipes from this book besides soup. Right now it is 4 am here and I am not sleeping and wondering what interesting dish my Thermie could treat me to for breakfast so at least I am thinking food....just not at the right time!

Wow! The book and T Towel arrived yesterday in the post. I couldn't stop looking at it. It has a lovely "feel" in the hands too.  Of course I wanted to get going straight away and so made what is probably the easiest recipe in the caramelised garlic paste. I spread this on my piece of chicken last night and it really brought it alive....well not actually alive but it was a great taste.  I am going to do the Umami paste or the chicken stock powder or both today.

I am so grateful and appreciative to you Tenina and Pete.  Thank you so, so much for your extraordinary generosity.
