Where should Tmx live?
« on: January 04, 2012, 11:23:30 pm »
I haven't received my Tmx yet but was just wondering where would be the best place to keep it? Would it be better on the kitchen island or on the bench behind near the oven?

Where ever is the most comfortable place for you to use it OFTEN!!

I have moved mine twice since I got it 3 1/2 years ago but am really happy with where it is now. You may have to do the same.

I like to have room for my recipe next to my TMX (I use an acrylic recipe book holder)

For now work out where you think it would work best - get it cleared and organised then sit back and (impatiently) wait for it to be delivered  :D :D

Let us know what you decide  ;)

If you have children I would put it on the bench behind. But customers do both in my experience.

Hi, I have 9 grandchildren so I guess the bench behind. Would steam be a problem as there are overhead cupboards that are vinyl wrap?

You will have steam coming out the top. The only issue with an island bench is the metal jug gets hot when cooking and the back has an area that is exposed so if you have stools on the bench then children could reach it. I guess it just depends on your kitchen set up.

As Kathryn and Meagan have said, wherever is most convenient to yourself, but you will have to be aware of the heat and steam issues.  Best advice is for it to be somewhere that is always accessible otherwise you may not use it as much as you should and that means it could be in danger of becoming an expensive ornament.

Can you put it on a bench and then bring it forward to use it? That's what I do. It sits under some overhead cupboards but when I use it I bring it forward quite a lot and out from the cupboards. Remember to always lift it, not drag as it will upset the scales.
As mentioned the most important thing is to have it somewhere that is convenient for you and a power point.

I also have vinyl wrap kitchen cupboards and mine sits under some overhead cupboards and I bring it forward to use so the steam can escape.
