Gert, hope so, once today is over & she is home it will be the start if her recovery.

Decadent Dot, thanks again & how are you now?

JD, your chicken dish. Thinking of throwing these. To the slow cooker for my friend. Did you use the hoisin recipe or another one? Thinking of buying drumsticks & skinning & using them.

H :)

Cooking for the freezer today. Molly cakes, recipe by Stephanie Alexander (with adaptions) and  oatmeal cookies from Livwise (changes as well). Really nice to have something on hand. Also yogurt.

Halley, sorry to hear about your friend. A very sad time. You are wonderful helping out in such a practical way.

Hally, I used up the last of the bottled hoisin sauce I have and it is a great idea to remove the skin before cooking that recipe - no unwanted fat floating around in the sauce that way.  Remember 3 hours on high will be enough, remove the drumsticks (take the meat off if you want or leave them as they are) and thicken the sauce with some cornflour.  For DH & SIL whilst I am away, I packed the second batch, deboned, into ziplock bags and flattened them out so that they take up very little room in the freezer.

DD glad to see you back posting, hope everything is going OK for you

Thank you lovelies  :D
I was a little worse for wear yesterday...too much Birthday cheer....never will learn  :P and to top it off, an early Sunday footy match just about finished me off!
The Birthday girl loved them....it's so nice when people appreciate your efforts  :)

They are beautiful maddy.  How do you do the icing?

Wilton 1M tip, swirl around from centre to the outside....really is so simple  ;)

How do you get the cakes to stay where they are and not fall off  :-))

Florist foam wrapped in tissue paper, then secured cupcakes by piercing onto toothpicks.
To build height, use a skewer to secure extra foam blocks.

Love your cupcakes cookie & Katie  8)

The plan changed a bit. So far today. fried rice, beef casserole, ginger crunch, date and walnut roll and Thai chicken sausage rolls.
Chicken drumsticks are in the slow cooker.

Are you stocking the freezer for DH whilst you are on the retreat Michele?  You're having a great cooking day as is Uni.

Yes Judy, I am cooking to stock the freezer. Looks as though our DH's will be having the same menu while we are away.

Uni the mango pie looks lovely.

Hally, I will post the recipe this evening, it's a good quick recipe with ingredients you would have on hand.

Thanks Michele.

Jd, pleased 2kg of chicken drumsticks for $6, i am browning them now in the slow cooker. I got 13 drumsticks, will split this dish betweenm the families. Thanks so much for doing this recipe :)

I made the hoisin & used it all plus doubled the sauce. It looks like its going to be fab. Its on high, will 3 hours be enough as I have 2kgs of drumsticks or should I cook longer

 :)
