Cookie, yum.
KATIE, not a lot has changed for the old ones.  Visitors will be nice. Glad the kids are going back to school.
Hairdresser came yesterday. It was very nice of her. She is very nervous about clients next week.  Was wondering if she could take their temperature.

That shortbread looks divine Cookie

Your hair dresser could take temperatures. There is school of thought that it is only as accurate as your device and controversy over ear probes versus forehead. We all have our temps checked before we start work and anyone entering the hospital. I must say that only having 1 visitor per patient from 4-5pm is wonderful. So much easier to care for everyone. This is just the sort of thing Gert would love.

Today I'm heading over to mums. She had been having trouble with her shoulder and when X-rayed
found that she had a fracture, probably due to osteo. She cancelled her cleaner yesterday so she could go to physio, so I will see what needs doing.

Read through Chookies sourdough starter thread and think I will put it off until warmer weather. Our house is quite cold and it seems a constant temperature is best.

Michele the SD is easier to manage in the warmer weather.  Our house is quite warm in the winter so I can leave the SD out of the fridge when I am making a lot of SD goodies.
Thanks for the info about taking temperature.  Will pass it on.
Quiet day today.

With the kids at home , in the morning I try to get out feed chooks and check on the weeds in vegetable patch . Decided to pull up the carrots , they had been planted together, so all intertwined. Cleaned and chopped some up ready for soup making . Gave to chooks the carrot leaves , happy chooks . DD is doing a Geography sac as I type this !! Complete silence except DS has a extra maths lesson at the same time .

DH came home from hospital this afternoon.  He says he feels fine but is looking very tired.  There is still no news on the bug that caused all the problems.  We have several appointments over the next couple of weeks with specialists etc and he also needs to have a MRI as he has a small anurism (not sure about the spelling) on the brain.  It's just good to have him home again.

Glad your DH is home MAB. Infections certainly take their toll.
Sounds like you're in for a busy time with appointments. Take care.

Mab, that is good to have your DH home.  The follow up appointments can be very time consuming.
The Medlars have been resting for 2 weeks now so it is time to make the jelly. Friend said you can make Medlar and Apricot paste.  Might give it a go also.

Work today. Quite busy which is good.
Good news. My Thermomix has arrived back and is at the Post Office for pick Up. So that was a 7 business day turn around. I think that is marvelous in these times.  Six days of that it was in transit.
Really good  :D

Lovely to have DH home with you Margaret and I wish you both all the best with the upcoming appointments and tests.  We all want answers to our health problems.

Today I had my appointment with the Diabetic Adviser, she was very impressed with what I’ve been doing from my own research since being diagnosed.  She said she would have liked to have given me a hug for my efforts.  The appointment for the Dietician is not until early June.

Judy that is so good. Well done. So many people just eat the same and carry on regardless. They don't realise what diabetes can do to you. Do you have to take any medication at all? How often do you test your blood sugar?

That would have been nice to hear Judy and would make you feel you are heading in the right direction. Not too long to wait until you see the dietician.  :)

Judy, I knew you would cope.  Well planned and into it.
Bit of gardening and cleaning.  SD crumpets for the freezer.
